They're so violent, in fact, that they BOTH have obtained restraining orders from each other due to multiple physical altercations!
Smash Mouth bassist Paul DeLisle and his wife Mary are in the middle of a battle royale since accusing each other of extreme violence toward one another. Mary first filed court documents for a restraining order in December and claimed:
"[He] has slapped me in the head and back, thrown objects at me, locked me in a closet, locked me out of the house, broken down doors to get to me, pinned me on the ground and sat on my chest, dragged me out of bed by my ankles."
That sounds terrifying! If all this is true, this guy should be in jail, BUT now Paul has recently filed for a restraining order that states Mary "grabbed my hair and struck me with several blows, she kicked me and tried to break my fingers."
According to the bassist, his wife tries to break his fingers so he is unable to play his instrument and make a living. Hopefully all of this abuse will come to an end soon because Paul filed for the divorce the same day a judge approved a restraining order.
Since they are legally required to keep their distance from each other, we don't know how these two are managing custody of their 2-year-old daughter and sincerely hope they are putting her best interests first.
