President Obama Does NOT Support Minnesota's Anti-Gay Marriage Bill

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikBarack Obama

Obama does not support minnesota anti-gay bill

He's not making any moves in the White House to allow gay marriage to flourish in this great country, but at least Barack Obama is not condemning it.

As you may have heard, Minnesota is in the middle of trying to pass an anti-gay marriage amendment that states, "Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Minnesota."

Fortunately 700 Evangelical Lutheran synod leaders have spoken out against it and now so has the President of the United States of America.

Kristin Sosanie, the Minnesota Communications Director of Obama for America, has said:

"While the President does not weigh in on every single ballot measure in every state, the record is clear that the President has long opposed divisive and discriminatory efforts to deny rights and benefits to same sex couples. That's what the Minnesota ballot initiative would do - single out and discriminate against committed gay and lesbian couples - and the President does not support it."

It would be nicer to hear it come directly from Obama's mouth, but we'll take what we can get. Although we think he SHOULD, we don't think he will ever step out in full support of gay marriage, but he's definitely proven he's not against the idea.

Maybe, just maybe, he'll be more vocal in his support if he gets elected to one more term and has nothing left to lose. Again, that's a BIG maybe.

However, since the big guys running the country won't step up for equality, that just means WE have to do it ourselves. Do what is right and support same-sex marriage! It's certainly not hurting anybody and can only bring more happiness into this world.

EQUALITY FOR ALL!

Haven't you lost enough readers already?

Here we go again… Homos want to marry. So sick of it.

Theres a million and one more important bigger problems in this nation. The fact that politicians even waste 2 seconds on a MINORITY of people that are scientifically speaking, genetic screw ups shows just how idiotic politicians are. adam carolla said it best "when did we start giving a damn about these people".

It's like the heavily biased liberal media puts all of their efforts into demonizing conservatives/republicans and purposely attempting to distract people from bigger issues.

He's just playing the gays totally! If he really cared about gay marriage and was such a supporter (as you act like his is) then he would have done A LOT more by now. In the past 4 years he's really done nothing about gay marriage. Sure, he's overturned "don't ask, don't tell" but even a lot of conservatives agreed that that was not a good policy (one signed into law by a Democrat president). Obama just uses gays to get votes. He isn't a supporter of your cause. He knows that he needs the votes. While many in his base have become unhappy with his presidency, he knows that to keep the gays and guarantee that voting bloc then he just needs to mention gay rights once in a while without actually doing anything legitimate to support it. You, Perez, are just another pathetic little pawn in his terrible presidency.

so conservatives and rethuglicans love reading hollywood stuff which is btw very liberal…HOW IRONIC. Obama 2012!

It's suddenly enough for you, Mario(n), that Obama isn't doing anything to harm your idiotic pet cause? Wasn't he your great hope? Didn't you have expectations of support from him? You know why he's not turning himself inside out to help you freaks marry? Because there are too many conservatives who are opposed to it, you twit. He can't afford to piss us off, so he mouths platitudes and sits on his hands. And morons like YOU make excuses for him. He doesn't care about gay marriage. He never has and he never will. But because he doesn't HARM it, you're gonna be stupid enough to vote for him. LOL

You silly Americans, when will you grow up and realize that equal rights are for everyone. It's like having that stupid little brother who embarrases you and who is still afraid of everything he doesn't know.

But then what can you expect, you guys aren't that old yet. It'll come with age.

    Best POTUS ever!!!

  9. 9

Perez, he CANNOT do anything. Gay marriage is a state prerogative.

  10. 10

Oh and if he TRIED to do something, people would scream TOO MUCH POWER TO THE GOVERNMENT. You Americans are so strange sometimes (all the time).

  11. 11

Frankly, it's none of the Presidents goddamn business what the state does.

Re: NookiesWA – Again, as I mentioned the last time you posted this (and you failed to have anything to say afterward) Adam Corolla has been an outspoken advocate for the gay community. So not only is your claim not true, it's actually the opposite of the truth.

The same thing is going on in North Carolina. It's not a bill, it's an amendment to the state constitution. Not only will it ban gay marriage, but it will prevent all civil unions, heterosexual and non-heterosexual.

I love Barrack he is not a hater at all. He is cool & he tries to be fair & nice to all. White, black, brown, old young, straight or gay. He is bi racial and raised by his old white middle class Grandparents in Hawaii where there is a lot of different kinds of people. He is also super smart and does not allow his religious feelings to interfere with his governmental decisions. We will only heal as country IF he is elected again. He was handed a pile pf chicken shit passed on from the Bush & even the Clinton Admin & you can't make chicken dinner out of chicken shit but he is doing better then ol man outta touch McCain would have done. If Mitt gets in you people better get ready for a complete collapse. He is Mormon & goes to temple 2x a week 3 hours at a time he is indoctrinated to hate on gays, minorities, Jews, and basically anyone who isn't Mormon. He is too rich & too far up the LDS's ass to ever make an unbiased decision for the good of everybody. I'm no liberal, In fact I am smack dab in the middle but this is 2012 & if we want to move forward as a nation & not backwards you folks better get on the Obama bus & ditch the Mormon Tabernacle Whiners right fast!

Its just a meter of time before we all get through this together and equality prevails. This is America and we stand together for freedom and liberty for all.
