Rita Wilson Serenades Us To Sleep

| Filed under: Music MinuteTom HanksPerezTV

Oh look! Tom Hanks' wife recorded a track and filmed an accompanying music video!

Rita Wilson's version of the '60s classic All I Have To Do Is Dream is delicate and pretty…very similar to the original, besides the obvious change of female vocals.

It's sooo soothing, it will lull you into a slumber if you aren't careful!

All I Have To Do Is Dream is off Rita's debut album, AM/FM which emerges May 8th.

Check out the actress' vintage-style music video (above).

Thoughts??

Boring!!!!!!! Really did fall asleep in the first couple of bars. Her facial expression doesn't change. Horrible.. sorry! love Tom Hanks, but really? Why is his wife embarrassing everyone?

Who has a debut album when they're in their 50's? I like her as an actress, but just because you're famous, doesn't mean you do everything well!

I actually like it and she has a pretty nice voice. It almost sounds like Colin Hanks in the background…. he sings and plays guitar too…wonder if its him?

So, what you are all telling me is, that none of you have ever had a dream, right? You are all such heartless bastards that you can't allow someone with a decent voice the right to fulfill a childhood dream of someday making a record? Who cares if she's 55. She has a pleasant voice - God knows it's better than some of the crap out there today. She's worked damn hard for a very long time, both as an actress and as a producer - if it gives her the opportunity to make one record, so be it. Be human for a change and not so God damn negative all the time. Just because you don't have to give your real name doesn't mean you have to be nasty all the time!

That was lovely, you have to be a certain age to really appreciate this, I am definitely buying her album

Re: 19bun56 – Get a clue to the ridiculous nepotism in Hollywood! If not for her famous name, and famous husband, no record label would consider her mediocre 55 year old voice!

I am of a certain age and enjoyed it very much. I will check out her album. Sometimes rich/famous people do have something to offer even though it doesn't seem fair. OK, it's not fair.

It seems to be a breach of courtesy to not mention the accompanying singer. Any other ideas who that could be? It would be so cool if it is Colin.

I don't know her. But I've always suspected she's one of the good people in Crazywood. And this is a nice cover.

Not bad. But who is the male singer and why does he not get any credit in this? Also - he ought to be at least featured in the video or else it gives the impression of Rita singing along to a karaoke track with a backing vocal!

Is that Tom Hanks in the background? I believe it may be!!!! I think it sounds sweet.

I think that's Hanks doing background. Nice.

Pathetic. How much did Mr. Hanks have to shell out for this piece of crap.

Hard to believe it, but the background singer is actuall Chris Cornell of Soundgarden/Audioslave fame. He is a family friend.

I read this on his fan page:

Shows just how versatile he can be, huh?

Its hard to hear just her voice, because it is essentially two people singing the whole song…..probably to give her voice more depth. She has a sweet voice, but not very strong.

    Sweet!
