Tom Kapinos, the creator of Showtime's Californication, has revealed that a spinoff series could be in the works!
Will it follow Hank Moody's daughter in her college years? Mia's rise to greatness in the literary world? Charlie Runkle becoming a studio executive?
Nope! None of that, which is good because we wouldn't want to see that anyway. Ha!
Turns out the show would revolve around a character that is being introduced in the next season when Hank's novel becomes a Broadway play. Faith appears in nine episodes and is described as a "good girl-gone-bad muse" for an aging rocker writing the music for the production.
No decision has been made about actually following through with the idea and Kapinos said the show is "by no means assured." The key ingredient for producers to proceed will be casting the right actress since viewers will have to fall in love with Faith in order to watch a show about her.
We'll wait until we see season six to form an opinion, but if Faith is as good of a character as David Duchovny's, we say bring it on.
