Titanic 3D Scores The Biggest Opening Weekend Of All Time In China

| Filed under: Film FlickersBusiness BlitzKate Winslet

Titanic sinking ship

China may not care for Kate Winslet's boobies, but boy do they LOVE Titanic 3D anyway!

The classic love story has beat Transformers: Dark Side Of The Moon to claim the record for the best opening gross of all time by earning $58 million in one weekend!

That's pret-ty impressive for a movie that the entire world already owns on VHS or DVD (don't try to lie. We know U have it too). Even more impressive is that the latest re-release has pushed the film's total lifetime gross past $2 billion!

That's A LOT of money. With the 3D version raking in $190.9 million worldwide so far this year, we wonder how many underwater expeditions it bought James Cameron.

Maybe he can leave the Titanic alone and go hunt down the Loch Ness Monster now! LOLz!

Actually I do not own a DVD of Titanic (which I watched 5 times) but I do for English Patient which is a wonderful movie.

we had already known what was gonna happen..so lets just be honest, the most tragic story in the whole movie, was a guy dying for a girl he'd just met!

Yes we all have it on DVD but seeing it on the big screen in 3D from a close up is always better, even if we know the story.

Well I saw it back in the theaters in Abu Dhabi more than 15 years ago, I took my 2 daughters to see it this week as well, i had to let them feel the same way I did. BTW both havent seen it before, so it was great!

Of course, it beat out Transformers; Titanic’s tragic tale is notorious and changed sea travel forever. Lifeboats requirements changed, The International Ice Patrol was established, and finally and most importantly, ship designs were changed. Now granted in the 1997 film I agree that 50% with sexy geek, that the lead character dying for love at first sight is definitely a tragic part of the film. Because I travel for work related business for Dish, I cannot get to the theaters that often. I travel and watch films for entertainment and hobby from dishonline and have enjoyed the film several times. The amount of content turns my laptop into a fabulous travel partner and draws me away from the mundane. I will however be making a big attempt to see the epic tale in the theater to see the difference in the 1997 version and “Titanic 3D”
