Watch Tupac Perform At Coachella!!!

| Filed under: Music MinuteSnoopCoachellaDr. Dre

This is freakin' incredible! Kinda creepy, but incredible!

Tupac Shakur was tragically murdered over 15 years ago, but it sure didn't seem like it on Sunday night at Coachella when the deceased rapper performed alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg on the main stage.

The deceased rapper made an all-too-real appearance as a hologram to perform a mini-set that consisted of Hail Mary and 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted.

If you're a hip hop fan (or a really big music nerd), this is a MUST SEE performance, so ch-ch-check it out (above) and let hologram Tupac haunt your dreams!

    why??????
    silly, stupid and gratituous.

  2. 2

I thought this was awesome on so many levels!

  3. 3

That was disgraceful. Tupac is dead and should be left to rest in peace. Instead, they're using his image as a puppet for money. People should have respect for the dead. And on the creepy scale, that's a 15 outta 10.

i thought it was pretty amazing…..very realistic and bizarre

Re: Meggie246524 – is not only about making money! its about honoring someone who was big on the music industry, its about reviving one of his best performances in his whole career, i thought it was amazing, how far has technology come and i imagine how happy his true fans were that night, watching his favorite artist one more tine.

Re: LauraBahamon – i totally agree, i don't think this was for money at all. just respecting and honoring him..

this only made me think about what rap USED to be about. Now you've got rappers singing about one night stands, how much drugs they can smoke, and drinking Nyquil.

  11. 11

plus - it's not like it was some rapper like lil wayne with zero talent comparing himself to him.

  12. 12

I am not into Rap, but he was amazing. What's odd is that he looks young and in shape, Snoop looks old. Jay Z, and Kayne wouldn't be here with out someone amazing like Tupac.

If you like 2Pac, you might like my blog, Rhymes and Reasons. It’s a series of interviews with hip-hop heads who discuss their lives and a few songs that matter to them. Pretty powerful stuff. Check’em out here:

Wow…if I had no idea who Tupac was and saw this for the first time, I would swear that was really someone on that stage rapping! It's amazing what technology can do nowadays and I don't think it's creepy or disrespectful at all, I found it to be a nice and tasteful way to pay respect to the late Tupac. Amazing video!

yes it was a little creepy, but it was amazing! tupac was and still is amazing and being able to see him perform on stage again, even as a hologram is incredible. i really wish i was there to be a part of it. theyre using him as a puppet for money? how? it was a surprise performance. coachella tickets always sell out within the first couple weeks no matter who performs. it was a tribute to him and a surprise for his fans

  16. 16

I'm not big into rap music and I didn't listen to much of his music but, I can appreciate this. I don't think it was meant to be offensive. Judging by his fans, family and friends, this seems like something that he would've appreciated. And not to mention, it looked pretty epic. It's amazing what technology can do these days.

  17. 17

check out the company who did the hologram: They also did Chris Brown's act at the Grammys!

Re: Airam24 – The song that got me hooked to Tupac and his music was actually that song, "2 of Amerikas most wanted". it's brilliant, amazing, and just so damn catchy. I love his double cd, all eyez on me. He recorded that whole c.d. while drunk and it still came out so amazing that is how talented he was. I can't get over that hollogram, it's so life like and makes me cry. He was so talented and so misunderstood but he was loved and there will never be another rapper like him, EVER. EFF Kanye, EFF Jay-Z, EFF Drake. They all SUCK. Tupac for life and the afterlife. RIP

Re: hhmm – Will you please say that again?! I was there and I can tell you that it was a pleasant surprise and the crowd was in awe. This was my first time going to Coachella and staying for all three days and I am so glad I did. Frankly, if I could afford it, I would go back next week.

Re: violethill – DITTO!! Tupac was a RAPPER! Perez can save that hip hop bull for Lil Wayne. Not even the best Lil Wayne song will get that reaction in 15 years…if people are still calling his name in 15 years.

This opens up a whole host of possibilities. Deceased stars of yesteryear could potentially be resurrected and introduced to a whole new generation of fans. Of course, there is the issue others brought up of disrespecting their memory for monetary gain. I am sure there would be people out there trying to exploit it to further themselves.

  21. 21

Re: LauraBahamon – AGREED! Is a nice anf amazing way of honor his memory.

  22. 22

Re: UAINTGOTTALIECRAIG – U sayed PERFECT… I didnt even knew his music BUT LOVE THIS…. Pretty amazing and lovely.

IT'S PRETTY AWESOME… INFACT I STILL BELIEVE HE'S OUT THERE SOMEWHERE. PAC STILL HAS FANS THAT WANNA SEE HIM AND SO THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO FEED THEIR HUNGER. BTW, THEY COULDN'T USE PAC AND HIS IMAGE AND MUSIC IF THEY DIDN'T OK IT THROUGH LAWYERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS AND I TOTALLY DISAGREE THAT THEY USED IT AS A PUPPET FOR MONEY. THEY ARE RESPECTING HIM STILL.

Is that a previous recording of 2pac or did they get jimmy pop from bloodhound gang to do this? I tried to find a similar recording to compare. Awesome video regardless.

  25. 25

They did something similar to guitarist Matsumoto Hideto (who also died years ago) during X JAPAN's 3-day live at Tokyo Dome in 2008. It was really shocking to suddenly see hide on stage but super amazing… I thought I'd never see him on stage. But there he was. Kind of.

Meggie…. so was it disgraceful when they done the same thing with Elvis…… from what I remember……. the world was loving it…..

Thre is nothing wrong with allowing this man to live on in memory and like this……

    27

Not for nothing but it seems that even snoop felt creeped out by getting too close!!!!! Hail Mary to that!!

  28. 28

so amazingly creepy — so lifelike!!! unbelievable how far technology has come.

  29. 29

First off I am not a huge hip hop fan but I loved Tupac and found this to be absolutely INCREDIBLE and a huge tribute to the man. On a funny side note while showing it to my metal music fan husband who also was amazed and thought it was awesome, he said "you know what this means don't you?" I said "what?" he said "Sharon is going to keep Ozzie on the road FOREVER!!!" LMFAO. RIP Tupac, cannot believe it's been 15 years.

  30. 30

I think it's somewhat disturbing. Let him rest stop trying to make money off him. The technology is pretty cool but its just way to creepy.

  31. 31

Brad Paisley has been using holograms like this on tour for years. Alison Krauss for "Whiskey Lullaby" and Carrie Underwood for "Remind Me." Super cool…but then again, Alison and Carrie are still alive. The whole dead person hologram thing is creepy as hell.

for the record dr dre had given money to tupacs moms charity for the permission to use the hologram, and only after she had said she was ok with it.

What a great idea! I would have loved to see it done a little bigger… The kids running around these days thinking Lil Wanyne and Niki Manaj are rappers really will never be able to grasp the real hip hop…sad. Dont take me out of context though, those individuals are amazing artists and will make a great legacy.

  35. 35

@ just sayin um not to be rude but snoop could not actually see him next to him

  36. 36

and no im not being dumb theres a site that shows you how its all done but the person on stage cant actually see the hologram at all
