It is not really that sad. He was not in good health anyway.

I never have understood why people get so dramatic and sad when old people die. They live long lives, and experience alot, and it's their time. Put it into perspective for god sakes and stop being so dramatic. Celebrate his life, instead of getting old emotional and gay!

Re: hoochpit – Excuse you?! First off, don't use the word "gay" in a derogatory way like that. Not only is it incredibly immature, it's also very offensive. Second of all, it's pretty much always sad when people die, regardless of their age. Perhaps you should start respecting people's mourning. Just saying.

He was America's oldest teen-ager. Great man who knew his music unlike a certain Frankenhead.

Re: MIssLovelyyy – Hoochpit doesn't need to be excused by you, and this is a free country when last I checked, and very few of us give a flying rat's ass if you like what's said or not. Who appointed someone as useless and as stupid as you are the thought police? It's assholes like you who have fucked this country up beyond repair. Please go kill yourself; I doubt anyone with even a single brain cell will miss the absence of your uptight self because you act so gay. Oh yes, I said it in a derogatory way. Nutless Perez probably won't have the spine to approve it, but he's a useless twat like you anyhow.

Dick Clark … hard to watch after the stroke, but still a driven man who wanted to live life to the fullest. He no doubt enjoyed most of the ride. :)

fucking shame, us old farts grew up with him and AB. I remember the mid and late fifties when AB was just getting started. Really great show, EVERYBODY in the business was on that stage. no fairness in the universe, this good man dies and hohan is still around.

Actually there is nothing sad about it. Clark was beloved in the 50's & 60's and projected himself as a friend on screen to the youth of America. Behind the cameras, he was a notorious (pardon my French) asshole. After Michael Moore's "Bowling For Columbine," everyone who saw the film lost virtually all respect for Clark, and he completely tarnished his image. Sadly, he never cared enough to enough make a statement at any time in his life after the incident. His on screen hosting character was a far cry from who he was.

Re: La Garse – Yeah…you don't sound like people would miss you very much if you died either. You just sound pretty bitter and miserable. Calling someone else the asshole and saying their the reason our country is the way it is? I'm assuming you leaving hateful comments on PEREZ HILTON to people you don't know is what makes our country better?

RIP Dick Clark. Death is sad no matter what the age. There are family members that lost a loved one, it's a way of life but, it's still sad.

True Mr. Clark was an icon to Americas teenages of the 50 's and 60's however he was really not the image he projected to the public. If one looks at his contributions to society ,they consist mainly of bringing a new form of entertainment to the forefront ,namely rock and roll. He did nothing to really help charity of the homeless or afficted. He was amazingly wealthy and yet his contributioins to those less fortunte were non existant. As compaired to Elizabeth Taylor a much bigger "real star" ,who put a public face on aids . And put her personal money on the line to combat this disease ,besides raising hundreds of millions for research and care of the infected .
