James Cameron is way too busy with the upcoming Avatar sequels to be involved in the next Terminator movie, but he's never too busy for a friend. Especially if that friend is Arnold Schwarzenegger!
The man behind Titanic 3D revealed in a recent interview that he's been giving his old friend advice on rejuvinating his career as a 64-year-old action star, saying:
"I was talking to him back in fall about a new 'Terminator' film and quietly advising on that, I suppose you could say."
He basically told the actor that he should only do a film that is centered around his robotic character and not settle for a lousy cameo. Cameron continued to explain:
"I was trying to be as encouraging as possible. Frankly, at that time, I thought it needed to be more about him. I told him he should not do it until it's focused on his character or he shouldn't do it. I think there are some great stories that can be told about that character that haven't even been thought of yet."
Yes! There are a lot of stories that haven't been told about his character. Like when is the Terminator going to start dating? What does he do when he's not fighting other terminators? Does he have any siblings?
In fact, we bet he's got a really funny long-lost brother who looks and acts nothing like him!
Woops, wrong Arnold movie! LOL!
Since the director attached to Terminator 5 bailed for the sixth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, we probably won't be seeing another movie about a Terminator for a while. But they better hurry up if they want Arnie to be the star because he's only getting older!
