No Love For The Vampire Diaries OR The Secret Circle! Series Hit Season LOWS!

vampire diaries secret circle ratings low

Apparently, people don't know what they missed with The Vampire Diaries last night, and that is LAME!

The CW series, alongside The Secret Circle, debuted after a three-week hiatus last night to seriously weak ratings, with the former pulling in 2.18 million and a 1.0 demo rating, while the latter scraped by with a low of 1.1 million and 0.5!

NBC, however, did much better with 3.2 million and 1.5 for 30 Rock, as did ABC's Grey's Anatomy with 9.7 million and 3.2 and Scandal with 7.5 million and 2.1!

Yeesh, though!

Obviously, American Idol is dominating right now regardless of how anyone else does, but STILL!

We happy knowing The Vampire Diaries isn't going anywhere, but this could be it for Circle!

Sad!

i actually forgot these two shows were new yesterday, i just happen to catch the replays later last night. - they need to have more consistent scheduling

  2. 2

What they need to cancel is all the mid-season repeats. The show had more than a month off during the holidays than a couple weeks off a month later, then another break… then I lost the habbit of tuning in each week. I just assumed they had repeats on and didn't watch this week. They need to make bigger orders of these shows up front so they can run a full season with little or no repeats in the middle.

I agree with both xoxo_anonymous and eicarr. It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long of a break that hurts the show. Great show. I'm 49 and enjoy TVD but people forget about it. What's the reasoning for doing this?

  4. 4

It's because of all the stupid hiatuses! I understand mid season break but they showed about 3 episodes when they came back and then took ANOTHER 3 week break! So annoying!

Well of course No one is watch TVD . The writing for the show is Horrible. The story lines are stupid , they keep doing the same stories over and over again. I use to love this show but it's so boring now … everything is Elena this and Elena that . Plus no Bonnie … equals me Not watching . Sad b/c this show use to be so good. NEW WRITERS PLEASE : )

hiatuses after hiatuses, would do that……. they need too start making more shows and stop with all these mid season breaks..

  7. 7

It's because of all the hiatuses. The show disappears for over a month then comes back for 2 episodes then disappears for another 3 weeks. I never understood why TV shows can't just play a season straight through with the exception of a few holidays off or Superbowl sunday. Personally, I think TV networks like ABC Family are great because they split a season into two and then run the each half straight through.

With all the hiatuses, who knows when these shows come back? Viewers are fucking sick of all the breaks. It kills a series' momentum and brings tension to a grinding halt. Whoever thought of all these breaks needs to get a team of cheerleaders to get in line and repeatedly kick these asshole executives in the balls.

But, don't expect them to "get" this. They'll blame the show for their own stupidity.

great show—i hate all the breaks though! Then i forget its on. What is with the 3 new shows-then old ones for 3 weeks-then a few new ones. They are the reason the ratings are low-i watched on cw.com today because i forgot it was on. great episode.

Exactly the same sentiments as the other comments. The hiatuses are killing the CW ratings. What are they thinking?

  11. 11

I don't watch either of these shows because they're fucking terrible.

  12. 12

Its because no one wants Damon and Elena to be together. You can't change the main couple in the third season. I mean its dumb I gave up watching.

  13. 13

America needs to stop having hiatuses, in the UK we just run a series through completely, week after week with no break, and it works loads better because you always know when its going to be on without having to check!!! Whenever we have run a series in the same way as in America, with hiatuses, I've lost track, missed episodes, then given up watching it.

No one knew it was on. And the writing has been terrible. Not to mention no one was even expecting Elena to make a move on Damon when she was giving him sour looks all the time. I had to get the ep on itunes because all the recaps was talking about the kiss.

well i heard that vampire diaries is getting low because bonnie isnt getting screen time as her fans hope… and while im on chat with them most of them are giving up on the show… i think the producer really need to focus on her and not all about elena,stefan,damon….. she a part of the main cast and seems rly important i know this has been going on since season 2 and now bonnie fans are sick and tired of her being treated like a tool and i would say bonnie needs more screen Time

Hey, you know what? I WOULD have watched The Secret Circle, by the Comcast in my area had a seriously messed up feed. We tried, but the picture jumped all over the place and was awful. No other channel had that problem. So maybe that accounts for something?
