The Army Cancels Ted Nugent Concert After Anti-Obama Comments

Ted Nugent army cancels concert

Ted Nugent's anti-Obama remarks are getting him in trouble with more than just the Secret Service. Now, the Army doesn't want anything to do with him either!

Officials have announced the cancellation of the rocker's performance at Fort Knox after hearing the awful and incredibly insensitive remarks he made about the President of the United States. In a statement posted on the bases website, the Army said:

"After learning of opening act Ted Nugent's recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation."

Soliders can now look forward to watching REO Speedwagon and Styx perform their greatest hits, instead of Nugent promising that he'll be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama gets elected in November.

We don't know about U, but we would MUCH PREFER listening to Come Sail Away over another hateful rant from Nugent.

As opposed to YOUR hateful rants ??????

    Re: Keeyth – exactly!

  3. 3

I thought our armed forces were there to protect our rights. Isn't freedom of speach one of them? It would have been better for them to let him play and boo him off stage or not show up for his performance.

  4. 4

Uncle Ted was cleared by the Secret Service and shouldn't be banned from the concert. He has the right to speak and nothing short of an act of God will ever stop him from doing so… Go Ted!!

  5. 5

ahahhahaha awesome! you can't threat the leader of our country

Re: KeeythRe: Utterly Ridiculous – When has Perez threatened the POTUS? Re: Itsmenotyou – Well, considering the President is also Commander in Chief, they are there to protect him as well. Just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean you have carte blanche to say anything, much less make explicit threats on someone's life. Like you can't say "Fire!" when there's clearly no fire. Re: PitaWife – … Except he's not doing the concert because they won't have him. Does that count as your act of God?

While I defend his right to say whatever bs he wants to throw out of his yapper, the Army (who the President Commands) does not have to listen to it, nevermind give him a stage to do so. And before anyone gets to caried away about Free speech in regards to what one can say to the president, try and remember the Dixie Chicks. It can't be had both ways. Less that ten years ago you committed career suicide speaking ill of W, now people can actually threaten this presidents life and not only be protected through free speech, but also not have their career hampered too? Nah, can't have it both ways.

@ itsmenotyou: it isn't better to just let him play as that looks like the army support his views (views which are literally against their commander in chief). It is no different than Nas perform at a GOP rally. People would take that as they share views through association, as anyone - left, right or centrist, would do.

Ted "Draft-Dodging Chicken-Hawk Child-Raping Coward" Nugent is one very sick mess!

Actually I think the Army made the right decision. We as a people do not always have to like our leaders, we do not always have to agree with them and we can publicly and RESPECTFULLY state we are not their biggest fans. However; what Ted did was childish, rude and very disrespectful. The position of President of the United States is one that deems a certain amount of respect. I never cared for President George Bush as a President but to be fair to him I read many biographies and came to realize that as a father and a husband he was pretty good. So for the respect of the position he held, I never commented rudely about him, I did admit to not being his biggest fan but in the same breath I was fair and stated he was a good husband and father and generally a good man. We will never be a country who likes EVERY President 100%, but we can be a country who says that while we are not fans we can support his position. Politics has become nasty, and every time we speak nasty about a leader in our country, then once they are elected everyone else in the world speaks what we first uttered from our own breaths. It makes us, as Americans look foolish, disrespectful and uneducated. Respect the position, not the person, that is how it needs to be viewed. Publicly protest in respectful manners if you do not agree with the person but to state you would rather be dead, or call names or anything nasty is just plain wrong, cruel and disrespectful.

Re: PitaWife – Sweetie, I think God has nothing to do with Ted Nugent. Oh he might profess to be a believer, he might profess to be a lot of things, but instead of blindly following his words, look at his previous lifestyle, his now lifestyle, and please, dig deep, you will see not much has changed with Ted except his voice and diatribes have only gotten louder and meaner. But then again, THAT is one way to remain in the public spotlight. Personally, I never take the word of anyone who supposedly tripped acid and allegedly boasted of messing with way too many young girls just to get off or boost his ego.

he's such a fucking windbag, I'm GLAD they canceled his show. just because he doesn't like Democrats and Obama, doesn't give him the right to publicly threaten the POTUS, no matter how veiled a threat it was.

if Ted doesn't like it here, he should take his family and guns and go move to the Equadorian jungle, because whether he likes the president or not, this is the only industrialized country where a douche like him could live the way he does.

    asswipe -

Re: Keeyth – LMAO, let me guess, you hate homosexuals, have no life and that is why you come on to a site ran by someone you obviously hate? If you truly feel his rants are hateful, then why do you come here? Just because you can? Hmmm, wait, IF Perez lets you come on here and speak mean things about him, then, wait, oh my gosh, that means he is actually being a fair-minded individual! Oh thank you Keeyth! Thank you for showing us your hate and while doing so you also show us how fair and kind Perez is now. Admit it, you are mad he has changed his life for the better and speaks mostly positive things now! Not to mention he is looking hot! Ummm is that also what bothers you? That you have a pot belly and he is sporting six pack abs? Seriously, grow up dude, GET A LIFE, and look into some positive things for yourself instead of all the negativity you send out. I promise you this Keeyth, if you do those things, your life will make a turn for the better. Good luck.

Re: Bluey67 – I COMPLETELY agree with your post #9. You don't have to like the politics or the stance a president takes on issues, but at the end of the day, he's EVERYONE'S president, not just Democrats'; if you need your country, you can't run off and ask the president of China for help. Respect the title, at least, people, and don't condone idiotic, unpatriotic remarks from those like Ted.

  14. 14

I guess the Commander in Chief pulled his weight!! I am sure most servicemen & woman cant wait to get home and work hard for there money so they can give it to the other 99% of hard workers they went over there to protect… This Commander doesnt have there back and yours either! Unless your like his illegal Aunt who was living off the government while being illegal in this country!!!

  15. 15

I would stand next to Ted before I stood next to Obuma when the chips were down!!!! He is MORE American then this President(Rev Wright) will ever be!!!!

  16. 16

Re: Yenkme – you sound like a broken record

  17. 17

…hey ted, your really helping your party!..keep it up!!!

  18. 18

Re: Yenkme – Really? Ted is "American" because he insults and threatens the POTUS? That's the stupidest thing a citizen of this country could say, yet you still have a right to say it because you live in the USA.

  19. 19

Probably liberal propaganda. Most military men curse the every living shit out of Washington especially our president. He could of got them home within 6 months of being in office..But yet its his 4th year..and nothing, they are still there. So I highly doubt the majority of the army is against his remarks.

  20. 20

HA! The army, navy, marines, air force cant stand Obama.
