David Cronenberg LOVES Robert Pattinson!

| Filed under: Film FlickersRobert Pattinson

David Hearts Robert Pattinson

Jeez! If you love him so much, why don't you marry him??

Director David Cronenberg just can not get enough of Robert Pattinson, ESPECIALLY when it comes to his new movie Cosmopolis!

David has gushed over him plenty of times before, but here is one of the more impressive times from a recent interview he gave to Cinerepublic:

"Yes I found him interesting in Twilight…I saw him in Little Ashes and Remember Me, and I am convinced that he could be my Eric Packer. It is a heavy role, he appears in each scene and I do not think I've ever done a movie before where the actor is always on the screen. The choice of an actor is a matter of intuition, there are no rules or instructions."

As if we didn't want to see it before this!!

We are SO excited for a different tune to come from Robert Pattinson!

Plus we just love his face!!!!

They're both intellectuals with a love for cinema. It's a no brainer that they would love each other. I'm just happy DeLillo was impressed with the film. His books seem difficult to translate onscreen.

Can't wait, hope it lives up to the hype. Rob really sunk his teeth into this and he's brilliant in this interview, which is actually from the Cosmopolis production notes. Fyi Perez couldn't you have picked a picture of him WITH Cronenberg or the Cosmopolis poster? That's from the Bel Ami premiere in Berlin.

I loved Little Ashes. Big fan of the period it portays, of what is known in Spain as the Generation of 1927. Robert was great as a young Salvador Dali. The actors playing his friends, Lorca and Bunuel are fantastic too. The story isn't fact, it's semi-factual only in the sense that Lorca did have a crush on his great friend Dali, but Dali had a morbid fear of sex thanks to him secretly looking at his father's pictorial health books, which showed photos of people with sexual diseases, which repelled him off sex for good. He became the great masturbator and voyeur, but never participant.

Nevertheless, the film has a lovely moonlit swimming scene with Robert, very romantic.

I'm happy that Cronenberg checks out little films like this, which deserved more coverage imo.
