What's the occasion?

Or, more importantly … what is it??

Scarlett Johansson has been seen rocking some new ink, but it's hard to make out… or… maybe… is that love for New York??

We think it is! It's a tat that resembles a bracelet, and has a pendant on it. On the pendant is: "I (heart) NY" — yet we still don't officially know what the whole thing means.

Such an odd place and design for a simple message like that!

What do U think of her new tat??

To each their own; however I think it's so unfortunate to see people scar up their bodies with tattoos. No matter how beautiful or meaningful the artwork, they always seem to look trashy.

Well it is my opinion also, tattoos just look trashy, but I know they are "in" now so lots of people are getting them. When I grew up, no one got tattoos except drunken sailors.

She is half Dane and for sure its a tribute to her Skandinavian heritage. Not a big fan of tatoos though. But glad to see that she holds on to it - being from Denmark aswell I love that she owns up

Because of her Scandinavic inheritage it is almost certain that what she have on her wrist is in fact a Thor's Hammer. It is an old symbol, common for the Scandinavians whom worshipped this type of Gods back in the days. It is still very common to be used as an accesory up here in Scandinavia.
