Hugh Jackman will find his surroundings QUITE familiar this summer!
Australia has beaten out Japan and Canada for The Wolverine's production location due to very lucrative incentives.
The Aussie government will do a one time payoff of 12.8 million
shrimps on the barby dollars to start shooting in Sydney come August. In other words, they REALLY wanted this movie to shoot down under!
The funny thing is … The Wolverine could have received more taxpayer funding, but it didn't qualify as an Australian production, despite Hugh being a producer and the star of the film.
The flick plans on shelling out $80 million locally, so this should be a big boost to the Aussie economy.
The Wolverine is scheduled to hit theaters July 2013.
Maybe they can work on a Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds flick while they're at it, too! Yeah, we haven't forgotten about that!
