Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys may not just be getting together for their children to enjoy playdates, as sources close to the pair have revealed that both artists were present in Jungle Studios Monday at the same, while the former was recording there with her crew!
Meanwhile, after Mimi's friend Rachel posted a picture on Twitter of some very retro floppy disks and a throwback drum machine while recording (top right), Alicia followed suit with a series of very similar - PERHAPS matching - photos (left), with the caption:
@Krazy_Flowerlol! I got a throw back drum machine and this came with it!I didn't even think people would know what it was lol!

Aw, SHIZ! We can't imagine too many artists are working with that kind of old school equipment - let ALONE in the same studio and AT THE SAME TIME!

It's actually a collaboration that Mariah's helping write for Alicia's next album, which is going to be a more of a throwback affair. Mariah's new record will be very fresh, uptempo, and organic. Mariah gave her A&R a mix CD containing various old resung dance mixes she made so they find the appropriate producers for her.
