Our marathon of theater-going began Friday night when we went to see Peter And The Starcatcher on Broadway.

We didn't know much about the show, other than friends strongly recommended we see it, and we're glad we did! We wanted to make sure we saw at least a few plays this trip and were pleasantly surprised with Starcatcher.

Without reading any press or anything about the play, we went in thinking we were going to see a drama. Instead, we were treated to a delightful funny comedy that was also moving. And it featured a stellar cast lead by Christian Borle, Celia Keenan-Bolger and the very dreamy Adam Chanler-Berat.

The show did toy with our emotions, though, when it had a couple of musical numbers. So it's like a play with music, featuring mainly actors that work in musical theater. We wanted more! The whole show would have been FABULOUS as a full-on musical!

Maybe in the future!

But if you're in the mood for something other than a musical and want to see a fun, funny, fast-paced show, then we highly recommend Peter And The Starcatcher!

    Perez,

Why did you not go and see USHER in Fuerza Bruta?

He is back at it once again tonight. I hope you decide to come.

Stop testing the "review" / critic waters. You and your underpaid slaves are about as qualified as a dripping anus to perform such tasks. Drama degree, actor hopeful; Couldn't get one recommendation for a SAG card. Ya. You don't need to be making reviews.

Iam sure that as we speak the producers are going crazy trying to put in new songs to the show you know.. cause Perez Hilton says so.

It's a rip-off of the Peter Pan story. It's not original, and it's not unique. Putting a "modern twist" on a classic is just fucking pathetic, tbh. The "playwrite" should have his nuts cut off with rusty scissors for theft. And you, Mario(n), are stupid enough to think it's good. No surprise there, really. You ARE that stupid. Don't bother us with reviews, because you have shit taste.

Read the books!! Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry made an amazing world for these characters to come to life!

    Re: La Garse

Um… it's a prequel. Not a modern retelling. It's very smart and honestly, if you didn't know before hand, it's kind of hard to make the connection that it even IS Peter Pan at first. Also, it's not just about the material of the piece, it's how it's presented with these amazing actors and incredible staging, costumes, lighting, the thrill of a live audience… Oh, by the way… it's good. REALLY good. Better than any other "retelling" or "remake" you're gonna see Hollywood turn out. And visually, it's just… art. Really.

You obviously know nothing about theatre or even the story for that matter… Why not judge something AFTER you see it? Read the books, or even…I dunno… go to the theatre and SEE the god damn thing, instead of sitting in front of a computer screen telling people how awful it is, when the ONLY thing you know about it, is that it's a Peter Pan inspired story. Lord forbid PETER PAN is on Broadway… Oh wait, he has been since the fuckin 50's….
