Hulu To Start Charging For Streaming?!

Oh no!!! Could this be???

Sounds like there could be some BIG changes coming to Hulu…and we’re not so sure we like it!

In the near future, the online streaming website will be asking users to authenticate themselves by proving that they already subscribe to cable at home, by using their account number!

Huh?!

Isn’t the whole point of Hulu to cut through all that other mess and the hundreds of channels you DON’T watch, yet still end up paying for through your cable provider?!

More than ever, people are choosing to stream their favorite TV shows online so they don’t have to pay for cable OR even TVs…so this really doesn’t make sense to us. At all, honestly.

Of course, this comes as great news for cable companies — the model would mean people would be less likely to unsubscribe as cable customers if they want to stream for "free" online!

Don’t get too worried, yet, though — this full-on authentication process could take years to sort out…so you better Hulu your little hearts out while you still can!

Guess nothing ever stays free for long…!!

I do subrcribe to Hulu, pay the $7.99 as mentioned below. How ever the only reason it's worth it is for the Criterian Collection which is like $39 a film to buy.Hulu has almost all of the collection I think. The down side is all the adverts and only a tiny selection of British shows. Plus if we are paying then why do they only have episodes 8-11 for example and when you click on you get tossed over to CBS or whoever. I get the impression that Hulu isn't completley running their own show. Charging and still running ads?? Not having entire seasons of the network shows. Most of the stuff can be gotten for free except the foriegn movies that interest me. And now you are saying they might want to hook up with the local cable companies? Well that would be a dead loss as we are in the deep south and our cable is food shows and sports, old reruns and not much else. Guess it would have to be back to Netflix. Also what's up with the censorship? The first few seasons of the only way is Essex had swearing etc and now bleep bleep. Even the Gerdie shore the british version of Jersey shore is so far not censering. Wish the US would chill out about freedom of speech on TV. Guns and gore is ok and a few rude words nope. Rant over.

and you will still have to watch ads! They make money off of the ADs, don't be greedy.
