IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!

Jessica Simpson's beautiful baby girl has arrived!!!

After MUCH anticipation, she popped on out early Tuesday morning!! Awww… May 1… what a lovely birthday!!

J-Simps shared the news of Maxwell Drew Johnson's birth via her website by proudly saying:

Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!

Measuring nearly 22 inches long, the little girl weighs a strong 9lbs & 13 oz!

CONGRATZ GUYS!!!! We're SO happy for you!!!

    Maxwell is a horrible name for a girl. And considering how she said they would call it Maxi for short that is even worse. Maxi like Maxi pad! That girl is going to be teased a lot!. Not such a big baby considering how fat Jessica got. Wonder if she had a c-setion followed by some lipo?

    I get the whole "unisex name just in case its a boy" thing, but Maxwell? Seriously? Why are people so mean to their children by giving them weird names…I mean even Drew is a boy's name, too! So no matter what her daughter chooses to go by, she'll forever suffer the misfortune of having a boy's name….

    I agree, about choosing a unisex name, that makes sense. But Maxwell is very male, i havent heard a female named that ever. I think when you are a celebrity, you have the obligation to name your children strange names.

    jackasses Jessica wasn't overdue she actually delivered 10 days early her due date was May 11th. all that matters is mom and baby are healthy oh by the way 9lbs 13oz isn't huge for a newborn legendary singer/actor Frank Sinatra was 13lbs 8oz at birth in 1915 and his mom Natalia Della Garaventa was only 4ft 11in

    Larger than average baby but not huge. My baby girl came out weighing 11lb 11oz, 22 in long. All I can say is, thank God I had a C-Section! Haha!

    Damn, when I was born, I was weighing half of what Jessica's baby was weighing! That baby is HUGE (but that is to be expected, considering how BIG her baby bump was). Must have been a painful natural birth, lol.
    But what's up with that name? I mean, it's not as bad as "Mowgli Bronx" (if I recall correctly, that's Ashlee's son's name), but Maxwell? And Drew? Are those actually names for girls? O_o If I think about this again, this name is actually worse than Mowgli. At least Ashlee's son got a name that suitable with his gender…

    Re: HarleyDex – From what I heard, she had a lot of amniotic fluid. I was the same way and dropped 30lbs before I left the hospital after I had my 11lb 11oz baby girl. The other 20lbs came off within a month.

    Re: Jenn – Funny thing is, her baby will probably be the same size or smaller than your baby when she gets to 6 weeks. When a baby is born larger than average, they usually even out by 3 months. Mine was 11lb 11oz at birth. She is now 6 months and only weighs 15lbs. On the plus side, they don't outgrow clothes as often.

    Wow. Almost ten pounds; that's a big baby. Yes, everyone, she looked like a whale. But Jessica Simpson is not a big girl, and considering the size of the child at birth, now we know why. And while some of you are making snarky comments about how Simpson isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, I bet she laughs along with you as she looks at her many bank statements that remind her just how business savvy she is. All I can hope is that the masculine names given to the child won't mean she's going to turn out to be another pint-sized dyke like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Now THAT child is a damn tragedy.

    Its sad that people are criticizing a pregnant women. I've met her twice and she was nothing but sweet and generous with autographs and pictures. She was pregnant, many women bloat and gain weight. People are real big on no bullying these days but in reality they forget that these are ordinary people too just like you. Doesn't give anyone an entitlement to bash them just cause there worldly known. What has she ever done to any of you to create hate. Let her name her kid whatever she wants it's really none of any ones business. Congrats to her though!

    People gain weight during pregnancy. I've seen women eat practically nothing and gain more weight than a woman who ate nothing but junk. Atleast she was one of the hollywood girls that ate to nurish her child instead of worrying how dimply her ass was going to get if she at that extra roll with dinner. You can always lose weight but you cant fix having a child who didn't get proper nutrition while inside it's mother. Pregnancy isn't easy. I've done it 4 times and each one was different. I'd like to see some of these male assholes on here take on being pregnant for 9 months. They'd shut their mouth real fast. I guess they think our priority is to still diet and try to look sexy instead of growing a child.

    I would like a long explanation of the chosen name , it's not as bad as some names out there … pilot insktor and autio sicence …. Buuutt it's a little GIRL … if they wanted maxi .. why not name her MAXI … thats it … or Maxiene, and it is STRANGE that Drew is the name of her former brother in law … Drew .. i know girls named Drew .. so that should have been a first name if it's somehow RELLEVENT , or has a meaning behind it that we dont know , i'm just tired of strange , crazy , way off the wall baby names , someone i know is naming her baby girl is Harley Quinn … as in the jokers crazy manic girlfrind … to me its dusgustin your naming ur sweet baby girl after a homicidal manic but whatever …i just can't see Harley Quinn as a 22 yo gettng a job or being Dr Harley Quinn … ppl woul run in fear … and lay off her weight ..     Ugh. I have a massive interest in baby names in this is all kinds of wrong. Let me just clarify that there is no such thing as a 'unisex' name. Mainly because ALL 'unisex' names are hijacked boy names which have been carelessly stamped on girls because it's "cute". And once those names come on girls, what is going to happen? People will think that the BOY name is "too feminine" on a boy. That's how boys' lost names like Ashley, Aubrey, Avery, Ariel, Courtney, etc.

    Most people who don't even give their child's name enough thought (gender incorrection and or illiterate spelling) are either usually dumb Americans or pregnant teenagers! Her baby's name makes me want to vomit. Especially since Maxwell is one of my favourite names. How long until idiots start hijacking a beautiful name on girls? Ugh.

    Who cares, it's her baby. And even regular people name their kids ridiculous names. And like Jessica said before "Maxwell is her fiancé Eric Johnson's middle name and his grandmothers maiden name." and "Drew" is supposedly Jessica's Mothers maiden name. So the name does have meaning. Plus what about the name Taylor? That was used for boys before it was girls. And Ashley Parker Angle has a girls name….. Happens all the time. Imost kids get nicknames or picked on for their names, if it happened to their little girl it wouldn't be the first time.
