Anjelica Huston gives a STUNNING rendition of September Song in next week's episode of SMASH!!!
Check out Anjelica's debut SMASH performance from the episode Previews (above)!!
This song is especially near and dear to Mz. Huston's heart, seeing as it was originally written for and made famous by her grandfather, Walter Huston, who sang it in the Broadway musical, Knickerbocker Holiday, back in 1938!
In a recent interview, Huston revealed:
"I never knew my grandfather; he died before I was born. But it’s one of the ways in which I know my grandfather. And this song was very resonant with my father growing up. I could tell that my father was very moved when he heard September Song. It was always something sweet and sentimental and dear to us. And we played it at my father’s funeral. It was very meaningful to my family."
So touching! We are sure she has made him proud.
We are now only ONE episode away from the show's May 14 season finale and we can only hope to hear more of Anjelica singing on season two!
Producers, answer our prayers! LOLz!
