Beyonce's Run The World Was A Joke!!

beyonce run the world joke

Say whhaaattt???

Producer Diplo has just come on out and said it - Beyonce's Run The World was a joke!

… at first!

Apparently he and Bey were just having fun when they played around with the track. Neither of them had any intention of releasing it as a serious single.

Dippity Dip elaborates:

I still think a lot of people don't even realize where that song came from. That song never really had a push. It was a joke song we did. Kind of like a funny joke kind of song.

Well if that's the kind of stuff they come up with when they're joking, they need to start doing it more often!!

We know it had a different vibe to it, but that song became a girl power ANTHEM!!!

Give us more of your comedy, Diplo! Encore!! Encore!!!

Orgy mote like damage control. All the sudden she's trying to look humble. Going out with no makeup on " cutting " her own hair.
Since the world found out she was too vain to carry her own baby and chose to LOE with a pillow. She's trying to not look like a vain biyotch. And run the world was the anthem of her self importance.

    That describes most Beyonce songs.

Re: Meowingloudly – you know her album spent two consecutive weeks at #1, right?

Re: il1k31th0t18 – Where are the sales at though? Still not past 1M yet. The whole album was a flop. #1 doesn't equal success. Lady GaGa was #1 too but BTW was a commercial flop. People claim that that was the third best-selling album of last year but is $0.99 price tag for an album to boost sales constitute it as a success? Nope. GaGa and your girl Bey flopped hard as hell this era.

As for the song "Run the World" is a horrible track and was literally painful to listen too. The only good songs from her album were "End of Time" and "Countdown" and even they flopped. She needs to take a break because every single one of her albums have sucked other than the first. There is no consistency. Rihanna and Katy Perry are capable of delivering consistent albums that have hit after hit all the way through but half of Beyonce's catalog is just a snoozefest. She definitely needs to step up her game. Makes me think Kelly Rowland deserved the fame Bey has.

The song peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is basically a flop, especially for a LEAD single. I don't think a LEAD single was a joke. He's trying to backtrack because he knows how hard the song flopped. Rihanna and Chris Brown's "Birthday Cake" has reached #24 and it is only played on Urban radio and only the one minute version is available on iTunes and was never promoted with a high profile performance like "Run the World (Girls)" was at the Billboard Music Awards 2011. Flop that flop Beyonce!

Why did she promote the song everywhere? Not buying the excuses

Well, that is not surprising. That song was TERRIBLE. Could never listen to more than 10 seconds of it.

When Diplo was talking about the song being a joke, he wasn't talking about Run The World. He was talking more specifically about Pon De Floor, which was sampled in Run The World. Not that it makes that big of a difference.

  14. 14

Re: John – Um I think you have it a little mixed up here or you just didnt write something correctly. He definitely talked about Run the World being a joke, why would he say Pon the Floor was a joke thats stupid. He said it at the end that a lot of people didnt even know where the song comes from which is true. Ive played Pon the Floor in my car or at home and people get excited and then look confused when no lyrics happen. It makes sense what he says, its sounds kinda like he was just playing major lasers song in the background and she was just stupidly singing or something.

If it was a joke she wouldn't have pushed the DI gle so hard and performed it on every award show and other appearances.
