Beastie Boy Adam Yauch Passes Away At 47

So, so sad.

Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away Friday at the age of 47.

MCA was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2009, but was recently believed to be cancer-free.

The cause of death is currently unknown, and not necessarily related to cancer.

Our prayers go out to Adam's family,friends and loved ones.

R.I.P.

R.I.P. Adam. This is unreal, I grew up listening to the Beastie Boys in the 80's and 90's. Very sad, all the good artists are dropping like flies.

Thought u ran a good sight here! My 5 yr old could do a better writeup! Factually he missed HoF two weeks ago bc of cancer was not recently cancer free and is MCA but not THE MCA. Terrible story read wiki and try again!

I am not a fan of Laga Gaga and can't stand her most of the time but I do not wish harm upon her, it's all entertainment and everyone has their taste of music, wishing she would die instead of another is just cruel an inhumane, she is a human being, hoochpit you should be ashamed of yourself. The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
