Well, given the success of The Bachelor and The Voice, it's no surprise to us that Hollywood would some how find a way to combine them!
Which is exactly what Fox will be doing this summer on their new reality competition, The Choice, to be hosted by Cat Deeley!
Apparently, "the world's most eligible celebrities" will be looking for love by taking to The Voice's rotating chairs, sitting with their backs to potential mates, and picking those whom they like just by listening to them talk! And if more than one famous face picks the same contestant, that person will get to decide WHICH ONE with whom to become romantically involved!
THEN, once there are three potential dates each, there's a "Speed Choice," during which the contestants have only a few seconds to convince their potentials why they should be chosen. After that, when there are only two to pick between for each, Cat Deeley will ask a challenge question, and the celebrity will finally have to pick his "dream date!"
According to Mike Darnell, the President of Alternative Entertainment at FOX, explains:
"We wanted to put a new spin on the dating game show that gives celebrities 'The Choice' of a lifetime and the chance to prove you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover."
Seems like the natural next step in the reality television dating competition genre, huh?
Kind of like a real life Win A Date With Tad Hamilton! Ha!
We imagine audiences are going to eat this UP, though, so we're curious to see which famous bachelors will be giving to try this out!
