MTV's O Awards Will Attempt To Break Jay-Z's Performance Record!
That interactive 'new media' experience that Viacom has dubbed the MTV O awards, will be back for a third installment of trying to break some musically-related Guinness world record.
For the first O Awards held in April 2011, rapper Chiddy of Chiddy Bang rapped for over nine hours in Las Vegas, breaking the records for Longest Freestyle Rap and the Longest Marathon Rapping.

In October, the O Awards headed to the Roxy Club in Hollywood and were successful in holding the longest-ever dance team marathon.
This year, the OMA's are raring to top Jay-Z's world record for most live concerts performed in multiple cities over a 24 hour period. Jay sets the bar at an impressive 7 cities.
On June 27th, the 24 hours+ livestream event will follow an as-of-yet unnamed band as they try and bus their way through nine cities in the Mississippi delta, pausing to perform a show with different artists at each stop along the way.
Fans will be invited to participate via Twitter and Facebook - perhaps even Skype - and awards will be presented throughout the broadcast.
What an innovative entertainment concept…we are very intrigued as to how this will all go down!

Award shows are meaningless nowadays since there's so many of them. Can't win a Grammy? That's ok, the label will create their own awards show as a marketing scheme to help you sell records.
