The Avengers Dominates Dark Knight On Opening Night!
Color us not surprised - this movie has, like, a bagillion superheroes in it!
Well six… but Marvel created movies specifically designed to feed into this epic, collaboration project, so it would be shameful if the film didn’t dominate the box office!
Based on 12 a.m. midnight screening ticket sales, The Avengers grossed $18.7 million beating ALL OTHER movies in the superhero genre… even the highly rated, iconic masterpiece, Dark Knight.
That rag-tag team of Marvel SH raked in enough to secure their spot as the eighth highest-grossing midnight opening EVER, sitting just below Hunger Games, which garnered $19.7 million.
Congratulations, Avengers! Now on to Avengers 2, Iron Man 3, The Hulk 3?
