Fat Camp the musical

Saturday afternoon we caught the matinee of Fat Camp, a new musical currently playing off Broadway, and it was good fun!

Aimed at younger audiences and featuring a young cast, the show needs some maturing, though.

It takes years and years to develop a musical, especially ones that end up on Broadway. And what Fat Camp needs most is… Marc Shaiman!

The weakest link in the show is that the songs are average but none of them are spectacular. The book is endearing and a winner. But the music needs a lot of help! If Shaiman, or someone of his caliber, were interested in coming in and helping Matthew Roi Berger, who did the music, the songs would be a lot better. And, in a Broadway musical, if the songs aren't of a certain caliber, it just won't fly!

Thankfully, though, the cast in this production is stellar, most notably Carly Jibson, who brings such an infectious comedic energy to every scene she's in! And her voice is phe-no-me-nal! She may not be the lead in the show, but she certainly steals Fat Camp! We see a bright future for her in sitcoms!

It was so fun watching the cast have so much fun on stage!

With some more work, Fat Camp could be a real Broadway contender!

And, if you love Glee, then check out the show now. You will find it very enjoyable!

You'd think with hardly any comments on today's stories you'd figure out by now that no one cares.

Stop referring to yourself as "we" it's pretentious and pathetic!

Stop with the pathetic reviews. You are no good at it. You used 11 exclamation marks. If you do not understand why this is a problem then you should not be writing. If you want a job critiquing, then do not say that such and such, in this case Marc Shaiman, should be working on the show. You are yet to establish any credentials as a reviewer, let alone as someone who could know what person a show does or doesn't need. And the line "Aimed at younger audiences and featuring a young cast, the show needs some maturing, though." doesn't even make sense. To you it might, to me not quite.

It honestly irks me that you feel you have the theater background and knowledge to "review" musicals/theater.

So, perez first tried a stab at acting. He failed
He then tried hosting/guest starring as himself. He failed
Then he tried becoming a fashionista..He failed epically
Then he tried being a producer/promoter of music..Once again failed
Now hes giving Broadway a go? Fail incoming.

    STOP reviewing theater you moron!
You're making an ass of yourself - exposing your ignorance and idiocy - and PISSING the people off who actually know something, and understand theater - you can't say "I totally liked it" or "I totally hated it" without SOME kind of intellectual argument. Your narcissistic assumption that your hunch, or your gut instinct, is anything more than that, is grotesque! Stick to what you know, which is sucking up to an endless parade of celebrities who all hate your guts and mock you behind your back. You're a really terrible person and belong with the Kardashians in the pantheon of shitty taste and dangerously stupid, materialistic, emptiness that will go down in history as the sad legacy of this moment.
    How embarrassing you you. Yuck.

Please rid yourself of the assumption that people want to hear what you think about musicals. It's clear that you are under qualified and overpaid, and it's quite possible that your excuse for a career is the most laughable thing I've seen in years.

I never thought I'd dislike you more than the actual Paris Hilton. Congratulations on making that happen.
