Tim Burton Can't Confirm Beetlejuice Sequel

Tim Burton Johnny Depp Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! BEETLEJUICE!

Let's hope that will help Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, and writer Seth Grahame-Smith deliver us a sequel sooner than later.

We had heard Tim was pretty excited to get the ball rolling on this project, but he didn't sound too thrilled when a reporter inquired about it during the press junket for Dark Shadows.

After Burton was asked if there might be a role for Johnny Depp in Beetlejuice 2, the director scoffed and quipped, "This is my last movie."

Depp giggled and then his friend turned to him and said, "You'll be playing Jeffrey Jones."

Jeffrey Jones, if you recall, played Charles Deetz in the original. Many years after the movie came out, if you recall, he became a registered sex offender.

Hmm…guess Mr. Burton doesn't want that tainting his alleged sequel. Luckily Johnny chimed in with, "I can play Jeffrey. I think."

Clearly, they were joking and having a bit of fun with the question at the disturbed actor's expense, but this makes us question whether or not we will ever get a sequel to that beloved movie! Just in case this helps…
