10 Things I Hate About You Life Coming To A Theater Near You!!

hayley atwell 10 things i hate about life

UPDATE: Despite reports of Gil writing a sequel to the original (as it is reported he also wrote the first), the new film is in fact NOT a sequel - just a "follow-up" …kinda sorta. Also, the very talented Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith wrote the original film. Gil did, however, direct the original. And clearly he wants to pay homage to the past.

Yep, it's true!! And Hayley Atwell has been cast!!

More than ten years after 10 Things I Hate About You came out, a film with a similar title is now in development!!!

Gil Junger, who directed the first film, returns for 10 Things I Hate About Life. But this time, instead of tackling the undeniable hotness of Heath Ledger, he's taking on the story of… well… actually, we'll let him explain it for you.

He describes it as:

It is the story of two relatable, ordinary people with normal jobs and normal desires whose seemingly great lives have become unmanageable. Two people who go to the same place at the same time to end it. Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways.

Intense!! But sounds like a happy ending… ha!

Gil says he drew inspiration for the film after a man killed himself at a scenic overlook.

Verry inneresting!! Lookin' forward to seeing how this pans out!!

Glad someone finally got the story right. I DID NOT write the original. And this is NOT a sequel. I would never take credit for the great work of the Lutz and Smith. Thank you for clarifying these facts.
The only true similarity between the two 10 Things is that they share the same producer and director plus it will have a similar blend of heart and humor, albeit set the late-twenties as opposed to the late teens.
