Jay-Z To Headline Two-Day Music Festival In… Philly?

Empire State of… wait, what now?
Native New Yorker Jay-Z will drive a few miles south this fall to headline a two-day music festival in The City of Brotherly Love.
The massive event is a joint effort between Jay-Z and Philly’s mayor, Michael Nutter, set to take place in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park on September 1st & 2nd.
Other bands and artists have not yet been announced but we can tell you it won’t be young middle-aged Hova’s only gig that month.
Remember that terrible NBA franchise he owns? Jay-Z will perform at the opening of the Brooklyn Nets home arena on the 28th.
No word on whether or not collaborating partner Kanye West and employee Kris Humphries will be sitting in the same section!?

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is an amazing space for a concert.. Saw the Live 8 show there.. gorgeous.
Oh my gee Mario! Phily is a great city and the birthplace of many incredible musicians. Don't hate until you've been there. We can't ALL be from NYC or LA
Re: Kdh208 – - Oh sweety… you aren't from philly are you? Well let me tell you a little something. I LIVE here and I wouldn't go to this!!! A concert in Fairmount park of all Places?!?!?! That's RATCHET central. This is not the city to host something like this. Live 8 was different because of where it was. And yes it was amazing …until the sun went down.
