Julianne Hough Wants To Play Elphaba In Wicked

We LOVE this idea!!!

First she Danced With the Stars, then she shook her moneymaker in the Footloose remake, and now Julianne Hough wants to keep tapping her toes all the way to Oz!!

While speaking to Vanity Fair about her part in next month’s much anticipated Tom Cruise hair-metal flick, Rock of Ages, Julianne revealed her true dream would be to snag the the lead role in Wicked:

"I want to be Elphaba. I mean, in my mind I’m like, I don’t want to do any musicals for a while, since they’re like the only movies I’ve done, so I’m like, Let’s just wait five years and they’ll have to come out and make that and I will definitely do that!"

Julianne is just a bundle of cuteness — this NEEDS to happen!!

Maybe if we all click our heels together three times and say “there’s no business like show business…”

Haven't heard her sing yet, but I highly doubt she can hit Elphaba's notes.

Ummmm no, just no. Soooo dream casting would be Lea Michele aaaand some broad who has never done anything of any quality in this business? No your right, Julianne Hough is a logical replacement for Kristin Chenoweth…

She has had some procedure done to her eyes to open them up. When she was on Dancing, when she smiled she had crescent eyes. Look at her now! At least it looks like it was done well.

I know Elphaba is the meatier role but she's much more logical for Glinda.

    She is so talented.

Disagree with her. I think she should be Glinda the good witch and Elphelba should be Lea Michelle. That would be the ideal casting for this.

If she like says like one more time like im going to like throw a like angry cat at like her head like omg like wtf like honestly

NO NO NO…Glinda maybe but Elphie? Hell no. As for Lea Michele as Elphie ugh…I am so over that one note wonder. Why can't we just have the originals if we're turning it into a movie? As if Idina hasn't reprised a Broadway role for a film before…

No all around. No…no…no. Julianne Hough as Galinda (with a Ga) is a horrible casting choice. Kristin Chenoweth is a force to be reckoned with, she in no way shape or form can even compare. As for Elphaba…um HELLO Idina Menzel immortalized that role. Lea Michele all the way for Elphaba.
