Jackie Chan Is Quitting Action Movies!!

Oh no!!

Jackie Chan is quitting action movies??

That'd be like Russell Brand quitting comedies!

After promoting his 100th movie, Chinese Zodiac, Jackie told reporters:

"This will be my last action movie. I tell you, I am not young any more … I am really, really tired."

Awww! That's so sad!

He continued:

"I don't just want to be an action star … I want to be a true actor. I want to be an Asian Robert De Niro. I want to get rid of my image. So, for the last ten years I've done other films like 'The Karate Kid' where I'd rather play an old man. I want the audience to know I'm not just about fighting or comedy, also I can act."

We guess he's gotten tired of kicking his own butt (as well as the butts of millions of henchmen) and he wants to show people his real talent.

We'll be sad to see you leave the business of butt kicking but we support you in following your happiness!

Saw JC in a comedy a few years back and he was pretty terrible. Making silly goofy faces to be funny. Better get a good coach!

I thought he was funny in the few movies I saw him in, which were comedies.

Jackie is the best!!! my whole family loves getting together and watching his movies, they're always fun and exciting. I love the 3 Rush Hour movies, and I also liked him with Owen Wilson. The fight scene Jackie has in Shanghai Noon with the Native Americans is one of my favorite. I'll miss him, but I bet he's uninsurable!

I had a dream about this happening before it was announced and I woke up feeling extremely happy, like a burden would be lifted off of the shoulders of the world. OK, the dream didn't go exactly like that. There were two details that were different. The person was Mario and the thing being given up for good was his blog.
