Bill Murray Impresses As FDR In Hyde Park On Hudson

Could this be it!? Could this be the role that finally gets Bill Murray an Oscar???

He was nominated in 2003 for Lost In Translation, but couldn't secure a win. Now the actor is portraying Franklin D. Roosevelt in the upcoming release of Hyde Park On Hudson and we are VERY impressed by his thespian skillz!

Just as we predicted, Murray is pretty much FDR's reincarnation in the first trailer (above) for the Focus Features period piece and we're eager to see his entire performance!

Laura Linney co-stars alongside Murray as his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley during a weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.

Yeah… No, not even close. Perez, have you seen any other films about FDR? Murray is definitely not the reincarnation of him. You should probably expand your repertoire before judging. It's kind of like your failed record label, you want to jump into something before really checking it out.

He looked right but the voice was way way off. FDR had this high reedy voice that could cut glass. Edward Herman did a great job of it back in the 70' and 80's. When you do a bio pic you must hit all the notes not just look like the subject.

As much as I like Bill Murray, I just can't buy him as FDR. I'd keep expecting him to start doing funny.
