Pete Doherty's Acting Debut Draws Mixed Reviews At Cannes

Pete Doherty was in France this past weekend to attend the Cannes Film Festival because that's where his debut film is premiering!
His first major acting role in Confession of a Child of the Century was unveiled on Sunday at the festival, but it wasn't to the best reviews.
While one reviewer praised the British rocker as "perfectly cast," others weren't so nice.
The Guardian panned the film and said, "Pete Doherty's performance as a philosophising dandy is as catastrophic as the rest of this insufferable film."
Yikes!
Another reviewer blamed the director for Doherty's less-than-impressive debut because the "personality or charm" has been "sucked out of him." Still, it will probably come down to Doherty's "mumbled lines" or "permanently bored facial expression" that attribute to his "wooden performance."
We haven't seen it yet, but if we put our trust in the critics, we might just have to skip the movie when it eventually hits theaters or DVD.
Better luck next time, Pete!
