Guess Who Popped The Question On The American Idol Finale?!

Perhaps one of the MOST emotional moments of last night's American Idol finale wasn't JUST Phillip Phillips being crowned…but one that came as a blast from Idol's past!

Last night's show had its fair share of Idol alum in the audience — including season three runner-up, Diana DeGarmo and season five's pretty boy, Ace Young!

Though they didn't originally find love on set of the hit show, the current couple got close after starring in the 2010 revival of Broadway's Hair!

The lovebirds' relationship got skyrocketed to the next level during last night's finale, when Ryan Seacrest brought both Ace and Diana up on stage for a surprise PROPOSAL!!!!

Check out the SUPER cute moment that caught Diana (and the whole audience) off-guard (above)!!!

TOO cute!!!

How was the proposal kept so unwraps?! Ace explained:

"I called [producer] Nigel [Lythgoe] directly last week and said, 'I want to do this. I'm going to do this. Is there any way I could do it at the show?' He said 'Yes, I'm not going to tell anybody until the day of … [and] I want you to figure it out with Ryan [Seacrest]."

Okay, now for OUR proposal — let's have the original Idol gang as the wedding party!!! Simon Cowell as best man and Paula Abdul as maid of honor, anybody? Ha!

Sorry Steven and Jennifer (and Kara, Ellen…), you'll just have to sit this one out! LOLz!

    Is he blind???

Am I the only one who thought the proposal was totally creepy?

  3. 3

Vomit inducing. They’re so desperate to revive a career that never was. Has-beens!

I agree with SnowQueen … the proposal was creepy and the plug for the jeweler was tacky. Personally, I thought it was inappropriate for him to have the spotlight on him when the show wasn't about him. It was just odd … really, really odd!

awww i think it's so sweet! Best wishes to them!

Re: JM – Totally agree. Just weird. Why not make it an intimate moment? But whatever. Mazol tov. I never thought those two would get together. She's NOT CUTE.

Diana IS good-looking - she is just not your stereotypical plastic blonde with big boobs. I'll take an interesting girl like Diana over them. No one wants a boring bland blonde.

Re: JM – ITA….I was thinking the whole time that they're probably just doing it for attention because nobody gives a crap about them. When he mentioned the jeweler ….UGGHHH so gross

That was the tackiest whoring I've seen on a reality show in a long time! When he mentioned the jeweler's name in the "heartfelt" proposal, I almost puked. And, Diana is not a good actress. I wonder how many times they rehearsed that spontaneous moment. YUCK!!! Hasbeens trying to make a comeback. Remember when he was the "talent" at Taylor's 4 year old daughter's birthday party on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? And, his hair is worse than Ben's from The Bachelor. Ace and Diana both need makeovers and need to quit being desperate for attention by having a fake proposal on national TV in hopes of reviving their careers. CREEPY!!!!

Desperate attention whores. They had their night on Idol already. What pricks to steal the thunder from Philip and Jessica.

I give them 1 year tops.

If the show was just about the winner it would last 2 minutes. There were lots of big acts and over the top moments, like Jennifer Holliday and Fantasia. i thought the proposal was cute and not at all out of place. People just love to nitpick others online.
