American Idol's Finale Flopped!

American Idol ratings

Sorry Phillip Phillips!

Last night's American Idol finale was the show's lowest rated finale in… FOREVER!

20.7 million may sound like a large number — but in terms of people watching the season finale of American Idol, that's LOOOOW!

On the bright side, Idol's still pulled in 3 million more than viewers than Dancing with the Stars got for their finale Tuesday night. AND, Idol's 6.1 demo score beats the shiz outa DWTS's 3.2 demo.

Actually, no shows did great last night!

Modern Family's season finale was down from last year's, with 9.9 million amazing viewers.

ABC's other finale of the night, Revenge, stayed stagnant with 7.7 million people still interested it's thickass plot.

So Phillip, you're off the hook.

20 million viewers is still more than the 500,000 that watched your stupid All Access show.

Re: Gonzo – That's seriously all he got? You mean with all his shameless self-promotion, he couldn't do better than that? That's pretty priceless. With shit numbers like those, his crappy little show won't last long. But then again, virtually everything he touches fails.

You have to keep in mind that Modern Family and Revenge will also have people that will watch later on DVR, so their numbers will improve. It is doubtful that Idol will have much of a bounce from DVR views, because it was the finale.

I couldn't imagine watching Idol, or any other competition show, live. If I can't fast forward through the commercials, the endless banter, the songs I don't like, then I would rather not watch. I watched that 2 hour show in less than 30 min.

Still more viewers than your show.

Re: rosebud99 – I do the same thing, thank god I didn't have to listen to the Josh/Fantasia scream a thon! My ears are still sore from the 5 seconds I listened to!!!

Why don't you tell us the numbers for you new radio show? Or can it even be measured?

the show hasn't produced an "idol" in years. The flame has withered on this stale show. Now, the "winner" has a debut album that goes nowhere, the record label lets him/her go, and obscurity follows. The show has turn into a curse.

I would've been watching, along with the entire city of Bismarck I'm sure, but our cable company took Fox off our package for some unknown reason. we couldn't watch it but would have!
