Is anyone else totally stoked to see Hit Girl tear up bad guys left and right while Kick-Ass just kind of stands there and watches? We are and we won't have to wait much longer because the sequel is going into production in about 2 months!
Mark Millar, one of the authors of the graphic novels, sat down for an interview recently and revealed:
“Jeff turned in a final draft of the screenplay about eight weeks ago. It’s in really nice shape to start shooting in eight or nine weeks’ time.”
Jeff Wadlow is the sequel's writer/director and fans of the original need not worry because Matthew Vaughn hand picked the guy to deliver the goods. Let's just hope he delivers.
It sounds like this flick will have all of the same elements in place that made the first one so damn entertaining. The graphic novels are, well, graphic and Millar says the sequel will be too, explaining:
“Every horrible scene in the book will be in the film. The c**t line in the first one, everybody said ‘there’s no way you’re getting that in the movie’, but it happened and it’s the same thing with this. Everybody is saying ‘you can’t have a gang rape scene with supervillains’ and ‘you can’t have the dog’s head cut off’, but every single one of those scenes will go in it.”
Actually, we take that back. It sounds like the sequel is adding a few new elements in there to make it EXTRA entertaining…or really offensive. Ha!
