Malin Akerman To Play Debbie Harry In CBGB
It's recently been confirmed that Malin Ackerman will be playing the part of Debbie Harry, lead singer of the punk rock band Blondie, in the new movie, CBGB.
The movie, directed by Randall Miller, tells the story of the famous New York underground punk nightclub.
The Ramones, The Misfits, Blondie and many, many more got their start at CBGB.
Malin is joining Alan Rickman in the movie. Rickman plays Hilly Kristal, the man who owned and operated CBGB for over 30 years!
What's funny is Rickman's Harry Potter co-star, Rupert Grint, is attached to the project as well, to play a punk guitarist.
Sounds like it'll be one rockin' movie with a great cast!

I srsly hope this is a joke. She looks NOTHING like Debbie, all the makeup and hair in the world couldn't have her do Debbie justice. Bah.

See it? I'm gonna beg them to let me be an extra! The casting (Joel Moore as Joey Tamone, Stana Katic as genya Raven, and Rickman as Hill) seems perfect. But not sold on Ackerman as Debbie Harry. (or even Linda Lovelace in the Deep Throat flick). But maybe she'll surprise us. By the way, CBGBs will be reopening in NYC (at a different location). Owners are currently scouting a new location in downtown.
Yeah I am for sure, hopefully she makes Debbie proud!
