Once again, gurlfriend is proving just how badass she is - and it only makes it all the better that there's sentimental value behind this!
Ch-ch-check out an absolutely incredible performance of the Usher smash OMG from none other than one of our favorite UK imports, Cher Lloyd, which she makes entirely her own (above)!
But that's not all! She talks about how the song in particular is important to her, because of songwriter Savan Kotecha's creative involvement during her X Factor days - as he apparently taught her how to make songs such as this all her own!
"The moment I met Savan [Kotecha] was quite strange for me. He stayed for me throughout the whole process on "The X Factor" in the U.K. and he helped me out with picking songs and with the arrangements of them. He asked me to do a cover of a song, so I chose "OMG" by Usher. And I tried to change it to adapt the song to make it sound like me, and it was a really great moment. He said he liked it because it sounded completely different. [Kotecha] will take a song and inspire me to change it, to make it different and original. He helped me along with the process of that competition and he went on to help me with many other things, and he still helps me today."
And he's entirely right!
With such unique talent like yours, it's so important to HIGHlight it by ensuring that no matter what the source material is, you add your own style and message!
It's why we fell in love with you in the first place, and we're thrilled that you obviously have never let it go!
The multi-layered performance began with the talented Chris Martin softly singing Yellow and ended with all three singers reminiscing on the best half-time shows of the past fifty years. The whole thing was seamless!
Check out the fun show (above) and share your thoughts in the comments!
P.S. We loved watching Bey's Formation in real time! Take what's yours, girl!
