Marilyn Monroe Film Festival Grauman's Chinese Theater

It’s Marilyn Monroe OVERLOAD!!!

First we find out that history’s first Playmate is getting the Tupac-treatment with an upcoming holographic performance and, starting Friday, Hollywood will honor the gone-but-not-forgotten cultural treasure with a weeklong film festival!!

Grauman’s Chinese Theater will screen a week’s worth of Marilyn movies beginning with Some Like It Hot TONIGHT — which also would have been her 86th birthday.

Grauman’s is also holding a Marilyn Look-A-Like Contest that evening, and the first 200 impersonators will be admitted into the movie for free!!

We wonder if LiLo and Michelle Williams will show up?? LOLz!!

Two-hundered sexy vixens singing Happy Birthday Mr. President Mrs. Monroe at the same time sounds hot to us!!

A half century after Marilyn's death, it really is great to see people keeping her spirit alive!!

I want to look up that dress

Monroe was an alcoholic druggie whore who couldn't sing or act or think for herself. She's not that interesting, and her movies suck. She is not a role model, and it's time that this manufactured interest in her dies.

Re: La Garse – Poor Mr. Toucan has been eating too many Fruit Loops! LOL Marilyn Monroe may not have been the best actress of the time, but at least she was unique and had class, unlike many blonde celebs today. Plus, her personality was engaging. I wouldn't be so quick to write her off. Lose the Fruit Loops and find a healthier cereal. lol

Talk about beating a dead horse , she was great eye candy but I to am baffled by why she has been singled out as one of Hollywood's all time beauties. There were so many beautiful stars from her era I don't get why the media act as if it doesn't get any better than MM , I can think for myself.

Re: Midnight Empress – It's classy to sleep with married men and be the first playmate??? Did I miss something?

Re: Nicco Street – Agree with you. I think Marilyn is an interesting and tragic study in psychology: she was sexually abused by men throughout her life and ultimately, that seemed all she was able to offer the world - and has been rewarded in spades for it. It's also a sad testament of our culture. We should have sympathy and compassion for her but not exalt her. At any rate, why beauties and fascinating women like Gene Tierney and Rita Hayworth and a million other names of that era are lesser known is beyond me.
