Slide Over Avengers, Justice League Wants A Ride In The Cash Cab Too!

Justice League First Issue

Justice League assemble!

Hmmm. Warner Bros might want to take a crack at their own tagline.

In any event, since Avengers box office returns have already eclipsed the entire GNP of the country of Belize, it should surprise no one and their mothers that WB and DC Comics will strike while the iron is hot investors are handing out cash for comic flicks like they were broken ATMs.

Yes, a Justice League movie is on the way and the studio has hired Will Beall to pen the script.

He’s scorching hot in Hollywood right now with Gangster Squad soon to be released and the Logan’s Run and Lethal Weapon remakes both in the works.

Green Lantern, Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, even Batman and Superman — all together in one film!!

Can’t you just imagine the sweet sweaty, succulent superhero on superhero action? Can you just IMAGINE if they could get Ryan Reynolds, Christian Bale and Henry Cavill to do it?! Mmm!!!!

How could it POSSIBLY go wrong??

Okay. We can actually fathom a few disaster scenarios… but we’re hoping for the best!

And, as an extra nugget of awesome for Justice League fans, a script for Flash is being developed and writers are being brought in to take a stab at a stand-alone Wonder Woman film!!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Yeah, I'll hold my breath while Warner Bros. tries to get their collective asses (and a workable, solid vision) together. I mean, they've only been going on about this for over a decade; in the meantime four Batman films (including a rebooted trilogy), two Superman films (including the upcoming Man of Steel reboot), that awful teen-angsty thing called Smallville, another soon-to-be awful teen-angsty thing called Arrow, and the god-awful movie that was Green Lantern and not a single solitary thread between any of it to leads any closer to a Justice League movie.

Seriously, it's pretty sad and scarier than the Scarecrow's fear gas when a CW show starring everyone's favorite Boy of Wood, Tom Welling (mind out of the gutter, boys… I'm referring to his acting skills) actually manages to get the closest to a live action Justice League.

Who knew all it took was its competitor to pull off the impossible raking in heaps of critical praise as well as cash to finally motivate WB? Oh, I did. Nothing as predictable as hacky greed, is their. But don't worry, they know what they're doing:

They just hired the writer of the Green Lantern movie to finally write a Wonder Woman script. That's just who I would entrust with one of D.C.'s most long-anticipated projects. That movie was such a critical and commercial success, after all.

    Tom Welling best Superman

Unless the writer's name is "Joss Whedon," this will probably just be Transformers in the comic book world. Pass.

The JL is so much harder to pull of than the Avengers on the big screen, I think. I would hope that they make it really good, so they don't ruin characters that have finally been brought to justice through the movies, like Batman.

Also, I read somewhere that DC is turning the Green Lantern gay now, in order to reflect our more progressive society. I wonder if the movie would reflect that.

Charisma Carpenter is the best choice for Wonder Woman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't even seen the avengers yet I'm not buying all the hype. I can wait until it hits the cheap theater in town lol no offense to them cause I do love RDJ. I would be first in line if they did a Justice League movie but only if they did it right! Not rush it just because they want to compete with the avengers. DC has always had better super heroes.

I'm VERY happy about a Justice League movie but, I think I'm MORE excited for a Wonder Woman movie!!

I just saw John Carter and did not expect to see Wonder Woman in that movie! Lynn Collins looked amazing! She IS Wonder Woman. I hope they cast a woman and not a little girl.

Apparently, what goes for when you write about video games is the same goes for when you write about comics.
The Justice League is actually older, thus they are the original! Also, the Justice League doesn't need some cheesy slogan like "assemble."

Believe it or not, Smallville - a CW show that ran for 10 years - is the closest we've gotten to date to a live action justice league. I don't see why they can't just make a Justice League movie with the cast from Smallville. Tom Welling's acting improved over the years and many of the actor's on Smallville are now courting the big screen. Whichever iteration of the Justice League we get, I just hope it's in my lifetime.
