As you all may have heard, Transformers 4 is a go for Paramount and Michael Bay has signed on to direct.
Although it seems like Transformers may be his Avatar and he'll just keep directing them forever, Bay has decided that the fourth installment will be his last. Not the last in the series though. We imagine these money makers will just keep coming as long as we keep paying to see them.
While talking about the new $100 million ride inspired by his movies that opened up at Universal Studios recently, the blockbuster director said he plans on setting up the franchise "for the next guy."
Earlier in the year we heard from a producer of the series that the next will be a reboot (already!?), but still maintain "some continuity."
Basically, it sounds like all of the human characters are donzo, but the studio is hard at work trying to figure out a new story for Optimus and Bumblebee to be a part of.
We could be into that. Certainly worth a shot with all the money they stand to make.
