Barely beating Madagascar 3's $20.5M, Prometheus won Friday's box office with an exciting $21.4M!
And we're not entirely surprised…
But just because they edged out the animals on opening night doesn't mean they're gonna win the war!
In fact, experts predict M3 to make $61M total this weekend versus Prom's $54M.
Still, the Ridley Scott gem is getting a lot of buzz, with CNN praising it as "spectacular!"
