A press release detailing the renewal of Glenn Beck's syndication deal with Clear Channel radio's Premiere Networks revealed two things: Glenn Beck makes A TON of money to do what he does and he's working on an animated comedy series!
Described as a "true talent and visionary," Beck is going to pocket $100 million over the next five years for The Glenn Beck Program, which is the country's third most popular radio show on the airwaves.
Beck's streaming video network GBTV is also adding more original programming. One of those original programs is an animated comedy series from a company that has created the racially sensitive YouTube masterpiece, Mr. Wong.
It features a caricature of — you guessed it — an Asian man named Mr. Wong who has an accent and trouble pronouncing words in the English language. He's also not a great driver.
Gee, we've never seen this fresh take on Asian stereotypes before…
It looks like Mr. Beck is aiming to produce a VERY classy comedy series that will break new boundaries in the medium.
