Britney Spears' Blackout Album Makes It To The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!!

| Filed under: Music MinuteBritney SpearsInspiration

Britney Spears' Blackout album finally gets some recognition!!

The critically-acclaimed album from 2007, which features UH-MAZING pop songs like Piece of Me, Gimme More, Heaven on Earth, and Ooh Ooh Baby, was unfortunately overshadowed by Brit Brit's personal life (aka the years we don't like to speak about)….

The album has officially been added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, making this is a first for our little Brit Brit superstar.

The album was once helmed as "the most influential pop album of the past five years" so this doesn't surprise us ONE bit. We just can't believe it's taken so long!

Upset that it's not Oops…I Did It Again or …Baby One More Time?? Don't be! Blackout was a force in pop music and will hopefully have a resurgence now that it's being honored.

Our little southern belle deserves this!

The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame officially sucks…an overly produced lip synched album that should only be celebrated on Gay Pride or a 13 year old girls birthday party.

  2. 2

Blackout and In the Zone were amazing!

  3. 3

Finally some recognition! One of the greatest pop/ dance albums ever.

  4. 4

you have got to be out of your fucking mind

This album contained dubstep before it became "douchey"

the years you don't like to speak about??? ummmm i remember well that you posted about her descent into madness like all day long….you even had a version of your site where a person could click so we wouldnt have any britney updates…..you relished her downfall and now you pretend she's the best thing ever….i seriously cannot stand you anymore, you make me barf

This article comes from sources within the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame adminstation based on what they thought of the album when they purchased and listened to it, and if you actually read the news clip in which a rep from the R&R HOF said this was the album that changed pop music in the last 5 years then I believe that someone working in the music industry has more credability then your own personal hatred towards her. When all of you negative people have 6 #1 albums then you have the right to judge, but until then you are being negative to people who have elected artists such as Michael Jackson, The Beattles, Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Holly, and countless other greats in the music indusrty.

Re: lacroix – How do you lip sync an album? Nice of you to show how idiotic you are so we can all ignore your pointless post :)

  10. 10

I wonder how much Britney and her people paid for this? Strange how this "honor" is coming just as she became a judge on X Factor. It's so obvious the media is trying to manufacture a happily ever after princess story for Brintey. And so gross how she's stealing Christina's personality and tough judging style for X Factor, in an attempt to appear shocking, controvertial and confident. Nevermind that she hasn't had a personality or said anything beyond "that's cool" in interviews for the past 5 years. Now she's a tough girl. rolls eyes. I hope it blows up in her face when she next performs.

  11. 11

I loved batshit crazy britney, that was the last time she was REAL.
Shaving her head, attacking paps with an umbrella and such. Now she is a drugged up shell of a woman.

  12. 12

haha Britney. Christina's Stripped is currently #193 in pop on iTunes 10 years later. Blackout is nowhere to be found. Buy Stripped instead.

I miss all the bad wigs, tacky clothen and period stained panties the raving lunatic use to sport around town. Oh and not to forget hanging her pantiless twat out of low to the ground cars.

Bowing to the EPICNESS of this album!! The ironic thing is that this is Brit's only album to not debut at #1 (due to last min changes by Billboard it debuted at #2), she did absolutely zero promotion for this album & this was during the darkest phase of her life. Despite all of this, it still reached the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I am so happy that it is finally getting the recognition it deserves!!! Britney is a superstar & this album is one of her best!! It truly paved the way for other pop albums..I love u Britney =)

  16. 16

What!?? "The Years We Don't Like To Speak About" … Are you fucking kidding me??? Brit's crazy years and every single crazy breath she took was so exciting for you it was the only time you got hard over a woman. YOU NAILED THE BITCH TO THE WALL WHEN SHE WAS ACTING OUT CRAZY!!

  17. 17

born this way spent 17 weeks on billboard top 20 and it topped the charts in 16 countries
femme flop spent only 5 week and topped the chart ONLY IN USA . No Longevity NO one stand shitney anymore

  18. 18

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame JUMPED THE SHARK!
Britney is neither rock nor roll.
Wonder how much they paid the people to put that album in the Hall of Fame?
    Not impressed at all.

Blackout is a million times better than Femme Fatale. In a perfect world, Britney wouldn't have gone through her mental troubles and they would have promoted the hell out of Blackout, resulting in one of her most successful albums to date. Brilliant album.

  20. 20

This album contained faux dubstep. Dubstep didn't go mainstream until Rihanna released her Rated R album. Gimme More is genius though.

  21. 21

Good Girl Gone Bad (Rihanna) and The Fame (Lady GaGa) were more influential than Blackout too.

  22. 22

Re: madonna is shit – Born This Way was a flop too. It's not even in the Top 200 anymore when Katy Perry's Teenage Dream is and it came out in 2010!!! Adele is still TOPPING the chart and her's came out before Born This Way… so MDNA, Femme Fatale, and Born This Way are all flops (GaGa's because of the $0.99 deal with Amazon to inflate sales).

I hate Britney but this album is a masterpiece, i cant imagine how this album sell just a couple of millions the only album from Britney what i love. Now is part from the History to forever good for The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

I love Britney Spears and she is an inspiration to soo many people. You haters need to back off and keep your negativity to your damn selves. It's obvious you're all fucking jealous with envy. Blackout is amazing and deserves this. Its one of the best albums of all time.

  26. Andrew says – reply to this

We love you Britney, and i've been a fan since 1999. She went through the biggest fall of a pop icon, EVER. Period. She deserves some respect at this point and I promise you, one day she will prevail and shut all you haters up with new epic dance moves like never before and an incredible new album. She's only going up from here. Get over it.

Re: erica – i agree. she may have been at her worst back in the day. but at least she was not a robot. I love britney and learned hot to adjust to the new version she shove down our throats! True fans will always love her. But the "dark britney era" made for some really creative badass music!

"but until then you are being negative to people who have elected artists such as Michael Jackson, The Beattles, Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Holly, and countless other greats in the music indusrty."
These are the same people who have neglected countless other noteworthy artists to the RRHOF, including Donna Summer, who was making the type of music heard on Blackout 30 years prior.

  29. 29

all the people saying its a shit album and that she is shit, have you actually listened to it, because it is great, its not trying to be some ground breaking acoustic deep meaningful album, its just a great pop album, she is a pop singer, lay off her, if you dont like her fine, but no need to be so nasty

  30. 9 says – reply to this

blackout is the best album of dance/pop in the world

If the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame are embracing inane, auto-tuned-to-within-a-inch-of-its-life bilge like Britney's Blackout, then I look forward to seeing Crazy Frog's 2005 masterpiece, Crazy Hits, honoured with an induction next time. Same level of talent and vocal albility went into making both.

  32. AprilB says – reply to this

    Definitely Britney's best album!!!

Re: britneycopiesxtina – why are u copying and pasting this comment in every Britney post? dont you have anything different do say? or are you so pressed about the inevitable comparisons between Britney and Xtina as the x-factor and the voice air in september? stay mad…

Re: madonna is shit – get your facts riiiiight moron…. FF went #1 in 21 countries. gotcha!

  36. 36

I feel like this is the only album where you get a sense of who Britney truly is as an artist. She helped to produce a lot more on this album than any other because she had absolutely no one controlling her at the time. The album has this magnetic dark feel to it that i love, which really reflects where she was in her life. all u haters can suck my dick and shoot up with an AIDS needle, bc you know nothing. Obviously the RRHF's opinion is more legit than yours.

    Re: landonfromlondon
I'm pretty sure they'll most likely get the AIDS from sucking your dick than from the needle. Normally I wouldn't make such a crass statement, but your busted ass deserves it.

Re: lacroix – Umm… A LIP-SYNCED ALBUM?… Are you retarded?… This album is AMAZING and the most influential since 2007! You now nothing about music…

  39. 39

  40. 40

Re: madonna is shit – Umm… FlopGa is newer, so she can sell more… BUT her singles from "Flop This Way" were all FLOPS that no one will remember in a few years… or less… SHE CAN'T SELL HALF WHAT BRITNEY DID AT THE BEGINNING OF HER CAREER! AND PIRACY IS NOT AN EXCUSE, LOOK AT ADELE! ;)

  41. Erica says – reply to this

Re: britneycopiesxtina – omg? wtf? Xtina is stealing britneys style, for over a centurie? Have you seen that fat bitch recently, she is sooo over! Britney is still one of the biggest, most talked about icons, in the world! Still, gossip magazines, are trying to create top stories about her melt-down, and try to make people think that she is still on the edge of going down again, if Floptina ever had a breakdown, it would be hard to see, because no magazine cares about that slut, it has been ages since i saw her in any magazine or a news entry, or on here! And still, floptina is on TheVoice, wich is kindoff overshadowed by XFactor, come on, x-factor has been going on for years in this world.

Re: lacroix – you're so limp.

  43. 43

Re: FUERTE – britney is an artist and this is her masterwork!! listen to 'blackout' and then listen to 'loud' or 'born this way'…and then laugh and laugh and laugh!! genius album.

  47. 47

Re: Music Lover – britney drives some haters crazy because she's so beloved and so talented and so authentic and no one has ever had such an EPIC 13 years!!

  48. 48

Re: pienado – i love all the britneys!!!! but i did love her OFF MEDS…she was a fuckin' badass bitch!! i even loved when she would say fuck it to underwear!! viva britney!!

  49. 49

Re: madonna is shit – lol!! born this way was a commercial and artistic flop. that ugly kike nosed twat couldn't even squeeze a hit single off that shitfest. :-)

  50. 50

Re: britneycopiesxtina – let it go, ya fuckin' loser. and fuckin' wash that ass, please!! xtina is great but britney is so far above her…even xtina admits that britney is her queen. xtina says ”i worship britney spears and think about her all the time.” :-)

  51. 51

Re: WAHHHHHHHH! – I absolutely agree! Britney Spears is a perfect way to show how fake people can be. And I really think it's just because she's very southern and very successful. A lot of people may not like that.
