Robert Pattinson HATES When Celebs Get Political

GAWD! Somebody has been grumpy lately!

Mr. Pattinson recently announced he wants to kiss strangle us when we call him "R-Patz," and noooow the moody actor is griping about his fellow celebs!

Apparently R-Patz Robert finds it VERY hypocritical when his Hollywood peers take part in political activism.

The Twilight actor explained:

"I remember when Occupy happened in LA. I knew a bunch of actors who went down to it. They all drove down there, because no one takes the train, and parked one stop away, because they didn't want to be seen driving their free Audis, and then got on the train."

"I was like, 'What are you doing? You're probably ruining it for the other people'. I guess that's kind of a bubble; you want to say things, but you are being hypocritical. I've never really been in a position to give my opinion on political stuff before, it doesn't really come up. But suddenly you've got to take an enormous amount of responsibility."

Ouch!

Which celebs do you think he's referring to?

We know plenty of celebs that attended the protest!

Wonder if they're offended by Rob's statement….

I agree that most celebs are totally hypocritical and never put their money where their big PR mouths take them. However, if it's just a matter of getting a message out (you do have a large stage and unfortunately most people would rather listen to a celeb and copy them rather than read a paper). However Joseph Gordon Levitt was at Occupy and I don't doubt that he rode his bike all the way there. There are more ethical celebrities out there, they are just over shadowed by morons like Kim Kardashian or Kanye West

so cause he's saying things you don't agree with he's moody and grumpy….shut the hell up Perez, he's more grown up than you will ever be with your stupid juvenile nicknames and he's right about celebrities….they should keep their mouth shut when it comes to politics…cause nobody gives a fuck.

  3. 3

    I agree with him.

  4. 4

I totally agree with him. It's one thing for celebs to put out messages ecouraging us to go out and vote or something like that, but just because you make $20 million a picture does not mean you are entitled for your opinion to matter to the general masses. Because it really and truly doesn't. Rob is just saying what us "normal" people are thinking, and it's refreshing to see a celebrity going against the norm and keeping his opinions to himself.

I think I'm starting to like this guy!

"Do as I say and not as I do"…Most Hollywood celebs. They live in their electricity sucking 20,000 square foot houses and ride around in gas guzzling cars but try to tell the masses how to live. They're all full of shit!

  7. 7

    I totally agree with him!

  8. 8

He's right I'm sure he has his own thoughts on politics and keeps them to himself, right on rob.

I agree with him. Hypocrites for showing up at the occupy protests. it really is a slap in the face for the 99% when a 1% shows up and says shit like "i support you" the fuck you do.. you got your nice cars.. big house.. maids.. servants.. hell if you wanted too you could pay someone to wipe your ass everyday. us NORMAL people dont have many luxuries but we have our pride. thank you robert for atleast not pretend to be something different then what you are!

  10. 10

Finally someone said it, I totally agree. Most of those actors are the 1%.

I really like this guy! A lot of ignorant ppl who don't bother or hve the time to read papers and watch news channels and cant form their own intelligent opinion look to celebs for their veiw on politics. That is a big part in why the economy is the way it is…lazy ppl not taking time to find out why we r in the crapper. Celebs don't know the struggles of normal hard working families! BTW…If Obama is the answer, how stupid was the question! And…1 mil ppl attended Obama's inauguration and only 14 missed work…lol…all these occupy ppl need to get a job and stop living off the goverment. So stupid…Obama/liberals wants you to be dependent on the goverment

  12. 12

He is so right. They are the 1% but help bitch about the 1%. Most of them have dropped out of high school, how are they educated about anything.

  13. 13

Good for him, he's being honest. I thought it was crap when those celebs joined the protests. I remember seeing Anne Hathaway in the crowd and thinking, "Okay she's obviously an educated woman, seems to have a good heart, but why the hell is she there?". I'm glad that Rob is butting out- wouldn't want to see him in Presidental campaign commercials like SJP anyway.

  14. 14

So true. Sadly, celebs literally control everything. They set trends. You have the majority treat them like their tears cure cancer. It's sickening how people act when it comes to people that do not contribute anything to society. A good looking guy can PRETEND to be a hero rather it be a cop, marine, firefighter and MAKE MILLIONS, while real firefighters, etc won't even see 1% of celebs annual income in a lifetime.

Theres a reason why Obama focuses so much on the Hollywood crowd (1%ers) if he gets hollywood behind him, thats a guaranteed win. Celebrities should just stay the F out of politics.

    15

He's right. Most of the celebs just want to be seen and half of them don't even know enough about politics to express an opinion. They just jump on whatever bandwagon that comes along. And drive their pricey cars to that bandwagon.

    16

I agree, it is completely hypocritical for celebrities to get involved in such protests. They themselves are wealthy and a product of many brands so cannot say that they object to the capitalist activities of wall street when they knowingly benefit from them.

it's clear the way perez insinuated the feeling we ought to have toward both rob and his comment…that he resorts to passive-agressive trash journalism techniques, and then counts on us to be too stupid not to be sucked in by his method.
rob is generally one of the most gracious men, and he's not being unkind here; he's just relating his personal opinion based on first-hand information….something perez will never be guilty of!!lol

Celelebrities have a right to express their opinion on issues like every other American. I would suggest that certain persons review the article again. Nowhere is President Obama mentioned. It's unbelievable that the haters and the President Obama bashers use anything to strike out at President Obama. I am also so tired of persons referring to him as Obama. He is the President of the United States. It is President Obama not Obama. It would be great if you did not twist Robert's words in order to support your political beliefs

I agree with him. Just because someone is famous does not mean that their opinion counts more than nonfamous people. And some celebrities are going just to be seen and don't really care about the 99% since they are part of the 1%.

  22. 22

Re: Chris – Couldn't have said it better!! Rob wasn't saying that all celebrities are hypocrites he said that he couldn't stand hypocrite celebrities. You can be rich and still support the cause of the working class, but don't be phony which is what he meant by the actors who were parking their Audi's and riding the train. Furthermore, he mentioned nothing of President Obama, so quit trying to twist his words and aim them at the President. Some of you are just so pissed that Obama has so much support in Hollywood and know that that support will be instrumental in getting him re-elected.

  23. 23

Re: rockualnite – ??? WHAT THE FUCK???

  24. 24

It's actually a really insightful comment. Celebrities are totally hypocritical. And as for him being grumpy Perez…he's not. You're just offended he doesn't like your little nickname for him. Get over it. You're just mad you can't have him.

  25. 25

Kinf of agree with him though!!! (wow, defending him again, must be a closent r-Patz fan)

Actors should ACT. Keep their political opinions to their selves. I hate it when they start trying to use their money and fame to get some jerk elected. I stop going to see their movies.
