Perez Reviews: The Addams Family

| Filed under: Broadway BabiesPerez Reviews

We're surprised this didn't run on Broadway longer because we saw the touring production of The Addams Family musical at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday and we THOROUGHLY enjoyed it - from start to finish!

As they say, a feel-good hit! Family friendly fun - thanks to a very unconventional family!

Major credit goes to Andrew Lippa for such a stellar score, writing both music and lyrics! Some truly memorable songs!

Credit to book writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice for bringing so much heart to the show!

And extra credit to choreographer Sergio Trujillo and directors Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, whom under the guidance of Jerry Zaks, the show's Anna Wintour, brought that razzle dazzle we so love from Broadway musicals!

Everyone in the cast was truly top-notch! A real standout, though, was Blake Hammond as Uncle Fester. His Act 2 song The Moon And Me is such a show stopper!

Oh, and thank you to Sara Gettelfinger's boobs for keeping us wonderfully transfixed throughout the whole show! They deserve a Playbill listing of their own!

We're so glad we went to the show! The Addams Family musical is must-see!

P.S. We had the pleasure of sitting next to Glee's Matthew Morrison at the show - and his sexy new haircut! Ha

Update: Apparently they reworked and changed the show up before the tour. Smart!

It paid off!

I saw it a few months ago. Loved it! Brought my 6 year old, who is a huge Addams Family fan, she loved every second of it.

In NY, it was the worst play I had ever seen, so I am glad that they reworked it for the traveling show.

Re: PorshaJo – Couldn't agree more.
His reviews are more of a school girls first time at a Broadway play VS a seasoned, veteran theater critic. It lacks any cohesivness and is childish in nature, never mind the excessive exclamations. If you want true good writing skills and reviews read the NY Times. And that's the difference, Perez will ALWAYS be bottom MAYBE middle rung in all things media. When EVER is Perez quoted on anything other than a gossip story ? .Perez states that he writes these reviews for himself but me thinks he should just keep them to himself.
