From Leo Tolstoy being inspired by a delicate, porcelain elbow back in the late 19th century, to a celebrity-stuffed film-pie directed by visual magician Joe Wright!?

Anna Karenina is a work of art spanning generations!

While promoting upcoming dark comedy Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, Keira Knightley revealed she will be making her aristocratic debut as Anna Karenina, in Hannah and Atonement director Joe Wright’s film adaptation of the FAMED Tolstoy novel.

Jude Law, Matthew MacFadyen, and Olivia Williams also star in the project that is SURE to be movie masterpiece!

But before the film debuts sometime at the end 2012, you MUST read the classic piece of literature about love, tragedy, status, wealth, and happiness.

Intimidating at first but quite the life-changing, mind-expanding read…

There's no better suited actress to play Anna than Keira, really.

Matthew Macfadyen played Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice with Keira. And Joe Wright directed P&P. This movie is going to be effing amazing. I cant wait to see it. I love period films, and Keira is one of the best for them.

"Intimidating at first but quite the life-changing, mind-expanding read…" You have never read the book, Perez. I'd put money on that. You are not an intellectual, just as you are not a celebrity or a write or a theater critic or a talent scout. Comic books about gay characters are more within your reach.

Re: Omniscient Gal – I agree…Perez seems to be trying too hard to sound "smart."

yes guys.. read the book. Then go watch the movie and when you get out of the movie theatre ask yourself "WTF?!!".
Sounds like another readaptation for the big screen of a classic: like "Troy".
I wouldn't be surprised if it had a "modern twist" like many movies have today. For example, before Anna commits suicide, she could beat the crap out of her husband and her lover, and all her brothers and sisters. Then commit suicide by throwing herself under the train, that incidentally derails so all the passengers get killed too.
Sounds like a real summer blockbuster to me.

You're referencing The Boy With Pink Hair one assumes…

Re: GuidetteInItaly – Well considering that Joe Wright and Keira Knightley did amazingly together for the film adaptions of Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, I'm not too worried

Re: Omniscient Gal – I was thinking the same thing,,, personally I didn't like the book. Maybe something is lost in the translation. I can only SWEAR in russian, not speak or read.

Perez gives himself away when he states that Anna Karenina "spans generations." The story only spans several years. I would argue that it's not even all that just life-changing, but just a really engaging and interesting, lush story. It's not the sort of thing you really learn much from, except maybe, there's a train coming. Run.

Don't forget the romantic lead - Aaron Johnson! And this will be good. Wright's films are epic and respectful of the novels they are based on.

Finally a movie I can look forward to seeing! She is a very good actress and I will have to check the book out of the library as I have not read it since college.

It's an okay book…..not what I would call life changing. I would love to hear his thoughts on why he thinks it is.

Didn't this girl "retire" a few years ago? I guess that she realized that she has no other skill sets. I think Jay Z did the same…
