Arsenio Hall Officially Returning To Late Night Talk Show!

Arsenio Is Back

We're going to assume a lot of you youngins' don't remember this, but Arsenio Hall once had a late night show, between 1989-1994, that was aptly called The Arsenio Hall Show! People LOVED it!

Now, many years later, thanks to his comeback fueled by the powers of Trump, he's re-teaming with CBS for a new talk show!

No one is more excited about the news than the head honchos over at the network, who released a statement sayin':

"We're excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show. Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late-night show, and that same 18-34 audience is now right in the middle of the late-night core audience of 35-54. Years ago, he transcended time periods and attracted a crossover audience while bringing a fresh perspective to late night. That same need in the market exists today as when we originally launched. We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio's seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre.”

The new show will debut next fall, in 2013, covering 52% of the country — including 17 of the top 20 markets — at the 10 PM time slot!

Elated to be back on the tube, Arsenio shared his gratitude in his own statement, saying:

"It's an amazing feeling to be going home to my old friends and colleagues and firing up our 'Night Thing.’ Let's get busy … again!”

Awesome! We definitely think the world is ready for another go with Arsenio — and we think Arsenio could use this too!

Did U miss Arsenio?? Are U pumped he's coming back for a new age?? Are UR arms ready to "Whoop, Whoop?"

Is he going to cry racism again if his ratings are low and he's cancelled again? I loved him, but that made me lose ALL respect.

I remember Aresnio's show, and it was a great show, until he forgot that he had a large white audience and started playing only to his black audience. That's why he got canceled. If diversity is so important, then he needs to remember and cater to ALL the ethnicities watching. I don't know if I'll bother to tune in because his last run turned me off so much.

Someone get me a bucket this cone head makes me want to throw up.

seems that Trump's show has the ability to
    * help people earn redemption
    * add a needed resurgance to careers (Arsenio)
    * occasionally make unsympathetic personalites more likeable
    * show the nasty in some who publicly pretend to be nice
    * showcase some surprisingly stupid people (disgraced politician Rod Blagojavich could barely turn on a computer)
    ..
so I can see "celebs" lining up to be on the next show looking for whatever it is they think their careers need

it was horribly unfunny then, with awful interviews. can you imagine anything different now?

He had a fantastic show…I loved it. As long as he puts out a show geared to "all races". I agree with "Gal" ..once he forgot there were more races out there than black, I turned off too.

  7. 7

Sorry, he lost me with his last show. Not going to give him another chance to alienate me all over again.

  8. 8

I don't think Arsenio is funny AT ALL. Every interview is so awkward. I used to like his old show but he's comedic talent just hasn't held up. Good luck to him anyway.

    Re: stickrat

Arsenio actually attributes his new rise to Access Hollywood with Bily Bush and Kit Hoover….he guest hosted with her when Billy was out and that spot got him the Trump attention.

Hope he does not verbally abuse his audience this time. We left feeling traumatized. Dudley Moore and Don King were his guests on the show that day.

i think i just threw up a little.

WAIT!!!!!!!!! Perez, whom is he replacing???????? Who cares if this hothead idiot is coming back to tv, BUT if he is replacing Craig or Dave, CBS will end up canceling him after only a few months like NBC did to Conan.

I had my fill of him on his first go round, and then overdosed on him during Celebrity Apprentice. He is too one-dimensional for me.
