WOW. And here we thought this couldn't get any MORE A-list!
Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are pretty much set to win every Academy Award ever when they team up for August: Osage County, a film based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tracey Letts. The movie tells the story of a mother and daughter in a Oklahoma town, and now, George Clooney has signed onto the project…but behind the scenes!
The actor/director will produce the dark comedy with Grant Heslov through their company, Smokehouse Productions, and says in a statement:
"Grant [Heslov] and I are thrilled to work on this project. It's already a great cast and great material and I can't think of anyone better than Harvey [Weinstein] to put this all together. And we're particularly excited to work with our dear friend John Wells. It's such a terrific group and we feel honored to help bring it to the screen."
We know we keep calling Oscar bait on this one, but with so much massive talent behind this production, combined with the already universal praise for the source material, is there really any denying how fantastic the finished product will actually be?
Can't wait to see where this one goes! How about U?
