The Beach Boys Evoke Eighties Charm!

We ADORE the fact that classic boy-band The Beach Boys are making a comeback…

But we are a little confused over their latest music video for That's Why God Made The Radio, which features stylin' gals in eighties gear, enjoying a picturesque, signature El Lay day…

Is this video ACTUALLY supposed to be set in the 1980's or are the Beach Boys celebrating the unoriginal fashion of modern 'hipster' girls who simply recycle old looks?!

Whatever the legendary musical group is trying to convey, judge for yourself (above)!

SO confuddled right now…

It is showing a progression from the 50's to the modern era in a less-than-obvious way. It is trying to evoke feelings of an eternal summer that is both timeless and clearly preserved by memories of youth and freedom and happiness. The idea behind the video is to capture the emotions that a perfect summer and the way your memory organizes those emotions.

Love the song and the vib of the radio. Sadly those beaches are so polluted now. I grew up on them.

That is one of the ugliest beaches I've ever seen. It's brown! EEEEEW! Thank God for the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean! That's just nasty!

Re: lushrimbaugh – it does follow through. We see the Beach Boys in present day - an era where what's old is new!!! Including THE BEACH BOYS!
