In a recent interview, Nate Ruess of FUN. tells an interesting tale of We Are Young's genesis and what nearly was!
He wrote the lyrics during a drive-time commute but initially wanted to transform it into a serious political ballad about anarchy and morality.
Instead, the band toned down the seriousness and kept the track filled with the sugary goodness the whole world has already grown to love!
