Ann Curry Worries If She's 'Good Enough' For The Today Show

| Filed under: TV NewsMedia MinuteBusiness Blitz

Ann Curry Home Journal

Nearly two days after reports of her being replaced on the Today show surfaced, a revealing interview with Ann Curry was released that sheds some light on the innteresting news.

In the August issue of Ladies’ Home Journal, the co-host opened up about her position on the morning show, which she took up a year ago, replacing Meredith Vieira.

Ann dished on her insecurities, stating:

"It's hard not to take it personally. You worry, am I not good enough? Am I not what people need? Am I asking the right questions?"

Oh no…it seems like she might’ve seen this one coming all along…

Curry then went on to say:

"When people say negative things or speculate, you can't help but feel hurt. I know NBC pays my salary, but I have never doubted who I work for. I think about the people who watch. They're the ones who matter to me. I want to feel I haven't dropped the ball when it comes to them.”

That is true! The viewers’ opinions are the ones that really SHOULD matter, although, ultimately it’s up to the big bosses over at NBC…and they zero-in on the ratings.

Ann also talked candidly about the things in her personal life that she would change about herself, revealing she sometimes doesn’t understand her own worth and thinks it’s a “chronic condition for women.”

Sadly, that speaks for a lot of us — self-doubt can definitely turn yourself into your own worst enemy!

Regardless of what happens with Today, Ann has had one AHmazing career thus far and it seems she has other goals ready to set in motion!

While she has been with the talk show for 15 years and would “love to make it to 20,” she confessed her desire for teaching and wants to “positively influence the next generation."

We think she’s already accomplished that, but would definitely make a great teacher!

We wish her the best in whatever may come next!

Ann Curry is a horrible interviewer. She is the reason I stopped watching Today and started watching GMA.

She just seems so flat and most of all, FAKE! Sorry, Ann!

I don't watch the Today Show, but I do watch Dateline, and Curry was good on that show. I think she has one of the best female voices on TV today; it's not screechy, it's soothing.

Lets not forget that it was NBC ”Family” that stabbed Conan in the Back!! I think she is TOO Good for them!! Matt is & has always been a little into Himself…I say Ann goes on to something bigger & better & let Matt take the blame when the Matt show, I mean the Today Show falls flat, yet again! Sign me, Always Ann's Viewer!

Ann is wonderful!! Matt is the dick. He is the reason this show is going down the tubes. Keep on keeping on Ann.

i am shocked! Ann Curry is such a loving and caring person. I have always thought Ann should have taken Katie's position when she left the today show instead of Merridith V.

Ann Curry is very talented but a miscast as the co-host of the Today Show. She came across to me as a bit obnoxious, lacking in genuineness, microphone and camera hog, more interested in being the center of attention instead of harmonizing with Matt. She acted more like the host of the show instead of the co-host. I could tell by Mat Lauer's face that she was a bit of a turn off.

Ann is the best on this show. I admire for her professional but yet warm persona. She of all people should not be let go. I know all of her fans including myself will not watch the show if she leaves. She should not be the scapegoat for this. The politics on this show are not fair. I think someone very arrogant but insecure (we all know who this person is) has badmouthed Ann and wants her out.

Re: LoriC – you are completely wrong she is the only one who cares…Matt is the worst and fake and who care where the hello he gets to go in the world!
